Interesting. Do you think (if still alive and arrested) he would try to say it was rough sex gone wrong as his defense?


I too after reading an article wondered if that could have been the cause (I'm not the former prosecutor). Who would admit to that? It doesn't seem likely though. She already said he grabbed her face.

I think of it this way - like Dog said, he likely called the parents right after it happened and they told him to drive home ASAP and lawyered up faster than the police could get any statement from him. They apparently obtained burner phones, and clearly there is money available that allowed for the flight home earlier in August, the mini camping excursion, new camper, etc…

Oh please. How many years have you been hunting down fugitives? zero? You cannot say in good faith that he doesn't know a lot about how people run and hide. He does.

Obviously, he’s not feeling the guilt or the responsibility. He probably blamed her in his mind for the situation she’s in, the way abusers and narcissists blame their victims. This, plus the fact that his parents do not act like their son died, they do not seem devastated, the dad making believe that he’s looking for him, joking with officer. If they knew their son is dead or there is threat of him killing himself, they’d be more devastated or more frantically looking for him. I understand that not all families are similar and people react in different ways, but this assertion that he killed himself seems like a wishful thinking for justice than anything else.


Lots of cowards kill themselves when backed into a corner. Simple as that.

Doesn't the Apple watch report real time heart rate and pulse??? As in, the watch and/or her phone via iCloud probably has her exact time of death?????

At the time he was caught I recall news interviews from people who owned vacation cabins in the area where he was caught. They reported missing canned goods and other signs that the cabins had been used.

My family owned a cabin in the NC mountains, and I once went there with a friend at the start of summer to find plentiful evidence that it had been used since the last time my family had been there, and very recently (lettuce leaves in the sink that were barely wilted). It was a creepy feeling. Anyway, someone could have lived in that cabin from September through May and we wouldn’t have known, had they cleaned up properly.


Yup. My relative's house sat vacant after her death while we settled a lawsuit. I checked on the house a couple of times a week. There were sometimes signs someone was using the house. I went to the house one day late in the afternoon, early Winter, it got dark early. While I walked through the upstairs, something dropped in the basement. No reason why anything would drop in the basement. We couldn't be there 24/7, the economy was very bad after 2008, and I figured as long as they didn't burn the house down it was okay (sort, of?) if someone was finding shelter in her home. This was in a town setting, and all the more possible someone can and will enter an unoccupied house in a wooded remote setting.
