Maybe your DS is ok but not every other young man is "doing just fine." Google deaths of despair in Appalachia or just look at what's happening right here in DC.
College is for wealthy people. Many people do not have the luxury of taking 4 year off with no income. This is DCUM. I bet most posters here think everyone goes to college but only a few colleges/universities are…you know…respectable. Only 42% of the US population over 25 have a attended college. A very small percentage of that go to what DCUM would consider respectable colleges/universities.

Men are abandoning higher education in such numbers that they now trail female college students by record levels.
At the close of the 2020-21 academic year, women made up 59.5% of college students, an all-time high, and men 40.5%, according to enrollment data from the National Student Clearinghouse, a nonprofit research group. U.S. colleges and universities had 1.5 million fewer students compared with five years ago, and men accounted for 71% of the decline.
The WSJ reporter Doug Belkin made numerous references to the boys' GPAs and solid grades – but omitted mention of their SAT or AP Exam scores. And we know why. Because the high school grades these boys received were 100% fake. They didn't do a lick of genuine school work, studying, serious reading, or develop any sort of time management from 9th through 12th, so no surprise at age 18 or 19 y/o they are paralyzed in a university setting. Grade inflation is fraud and high schools across America have become crime scenes as teachers unions and fat cat administrators perpetuate this fraud on tens of millions of unsuspecting families. Parents don't even realize they've been conned until the kids, typically the boys, are age 18 or 19 and "give up" and feel "lost".

(Sarcastically) now there will be even more underpaid, in/underemployed men who feel emasculated and threatened by women and anyone who is non-white. Then they can take their realized fear of falling behind and being powerless and lash out at others and prop up people like Trump who feed their desire to feel strong and in control.
Word. Weak, weak pathetic men. How we are raising white men to expect their privilege and lash out at others when they don’t get it - rather than earn their place- is horrifying.
This will be bad for women. They will chase around the few “Mr bigs” who will have their pick of women. The ones not picked will be out of luck.
Hahahahha. This reminds me of the NASA plan to send all female astronaut crews on long space flights so that nobody would be having sex.
Newflash: Women don't need men for anything.
Why are you posting on this thread? It’s about men. Seems like you are desperate to escape your all female world. I think you are totally dependent on a man and secretly hopes he fails so you can stick the knife in him( if it makes you unhappy life worst). I guess that is winning to you.

Is this K - 16 now? College isn't for everyone.
We need universal basic income for all the women who work low paying jobs at these colleges and universities.
Women need to stop buying into the college multilevel marketing pyramid scheme. Women who dominate HR fields need to stop requiring a ridiculously over-priced college degree for entry level jobs.
We need people who are HVAC workers, welders, plumbers, electricians, home healthcare aides. Competency-based and skill-based training are better than a college degree.
