I am certain it is over. Too many different sources saying they were already told it's a done deal. They are coming up with a carefully drafted statement because they know a sh*tstorm will erupt.

But, really? Universities and K-12 schools closed recently. People have lost jobs. Restaurants/businesses, etc. are shutting down. I don't think it will be that big of a deal as if it were announced when people were not in the midst of a pandemic.

Like others said, it was the perfect opportunity since no league play is happening anywhere. People have time to work it out.

So this is saying they are getting rid of all DA except "MLS DA", correct?

Any local club DAs will have to find different leagues and really can't call themselves 'DA'...or I guess for marketing they could like they call their 'pre DA teams' and their U16 that weren't DA this year.

OR--is it being implied that MLS DA also going away? And they are scrapping the entire thing? Was he basing this on any new announcement or still speculation?

I don't think it matter anyways. I've been around soccer in the DMV since the mid-70s and there is always the next shiny new thing. This was just another.

Hmm. Deeply troubling. This is an important age group for development. Do you really want to entrust them to an organization that can't seem to stay out of it's own way?
Beyond that, our country is so big and the population so varied, that any one program or standard cannot apply to all. There is not one single best way to develop. Development will ultimately be in the hands of local clubs no matter what they do, so I think if there was USSF input here, it should be in training coaches to develop, not to prescribe training methods.

If this has in fact happened then those teams should be welcomed into ecnl. This’ll be only hope in having a season next year because many family’s are worried about travel. This could be very competitive.
