Yes, it is awful. The scary part is his ordeal was “mild”. Those with severe symptoms end up in the ICU.

Montgomery County schools prepare in case coronavirus requires closings
MCPS plans - What a joke! I guess they can mail off packets to kids w/o computer access.
Montgomery County, Maryland’s public school system continues normal operations, and school and health officials say they are preparing should that change.
Montgomery County Public Schools Deputy Superintendent Monifa McKnight said plans for remote instruction and hard copy lessons would be ready should schools have to close due to the coronavirus. She was repeating a message delivered in a briefing Tuesday with county officials.
I also heard that the teachers weren't told they had to be preparing these hard copy packets, so they're scrambling.
What a sh-tshow.

It’s already here...and everywhere. People are inadvertently passing germs without realizing they’ve been exposed and are carrying it.
Do you all realize that these people had mild cold symptoms and have already basically recovered? Did anyone read the article? They are not on their deathbed.
That makes it worse. They didn’t feel sick enough to stay home. They were out and about spreading it.
It = a cold
Yes, a cold that required 54% of the Italians who got it to be hospitalized. The fact that these cases may be in the mild group means they had more of an opportunity to spread it. Not knowingly, not maliciously, but still. With diseases like Ebola, it kills so fast, it burns itself out. Not so with COVID-19.

They got back in late February. They flew home from a cruise. They weren’t tested until March.

This guy who had a horrible case and recovered got "better" twice during his ordeal. Did you read his first hand account of what it was like as a young, healthy person?

Worse, people who know they are sick with something respiratory are venturing out. I was a store yesterday in which at least two different people were coughing hard. I was tempted to abandon my cart, but I’d finally found an item I wanted to stock up on.
This time of year that could easily be allergies.
