April first half- no
April last half- wait and see
Summer- don’t book yet if already booked, wait and see.

From a timeline perspective, this is basically what my firm has decided. I'm in a consulting role where weekly domestic and international travel is expected FWIW.

And it seems to be lost on you that travel is how this thing has made it to nearly 90 countries worldwide.

So its highly unlikely we will go, but eating $6K just really really hurts. Like could have bought a few appliances for my kitchen hurts. Ugh. We can "afford" it, but are not so wealthy it doesn't hurt.

Talk to a travel health clinic doctor or nurse. This board is not a good place to get rational advice. There are very high levels of anxiety here and people are extremely anxious and risk adverse. Basing a decision off of someone else's anxiety is not a good decision.

Did you book on a credit card? Many cards have trip insurance as a benefit.

I have trip insurance. And if one of us gets ill right before the trip or on the trip it kicks in. But we don't have cancel for any reason and therefore we can't cancel for fear of the virus.

Sounds like you could go to the doctor the day before with reports of a bad stomach bug, etc....

Well the the R0 would only count the guy’s own family and neighbor. Then who the neighbor infected would be his own R0, so to speak.

Still think its an overreaction?

A New York family of five who are friends with the Manhattan attorney who infected his wife, two children and a neighbor have now also tested positive to coronavirus - as 1,000 others that may have also come into contact with him are ordered to self-quarantine.

Wait a sec! Holy sh*t!!!!! One person infected 9 people? Think of that exponentially if that were to continue? 9, 81, 729, 6,591 then 59,049. I am going to buy supplies right now.

You people should take your Xanax, stat. Nothing's going to happen to any of you and you'll live to be 100 while depleting what will remain of Social Security.
I'd only be concerned if I worked in health care; otherwise, I'm not cancelling any of my plans.

I am not canceling anything but the way things are going, United is in trouble... and I have tickets with them for 3 upcoming trips, even 4, some bought using miles, some carried out by european partner airlines...
I am afraid of losing my money, not the virus. What if they invoke chapter 11??

I’m going to Arizona I March but I’m not flying I’m driving (I’m not in DC and am closer to AZ but not that close). I think it is more the flights to be worried about.

He was only in the CAR with his neighbor and that was enough to spread the infection. Why does this remind me of every disaster movie ever?
