No. They need to be academically and physically certified for admission. Nominations is not enough alone. Pass CFA, pass physical. compete with academic.

No, IIRC, the stats show around 50% acceptance if you meet all the other requirements and secure a nomination. Also, you can't actually apply if they don't deem you competitive enough to apply in the first place.

No. They need to be academically and physically certified for admission. Nominations is not enough alone. Pass CFA, pass physical. compete with academic.

Service academies are 1000% elite. It’s an absurd discussion.

I went to Yale. I majored in something that, candidly, is embarrassing. When I’ve interviewed Service Academy grads or even other BA grads with OCS experience, they have been 100 times out of 100 times well beyond their competitors in terms of maturity, professionalism, motivation, and just general competence. I’m way, way far away from a military hero worship GOPer, but if you want a 25 year old who is smart and can learn how to do things and take action in a business environment, I don’t know of a better litmus.

I'm a huge fan of the service academies, but those particular books are totally cooked. They throw everyone who starts an application into the denominator. Of the kids who actually complete applications, around 50 percent are accepted.
