Actually there are groups like this. In DC it’s called the Humane Rescue Alliance and when I called them they came within an hour and took a bird that had struck a window to City Wildlife for rehabbing.

I was talking to an officer and he said they were confronted with severely injured deer all the time in accidents and sometimes had to do this.

In outer MoCo the deer and the geese are all over the place and the road.
