At least they’re playing out there. Travel is tough. No I’m not an fcv parent.
What does, “at least they’re playing out there” mean? They’re supposed to be an “elite team”. Why wouldn’t they be playing? They travel early to get prepared, doesn’t seem like they were. They lost in a 3-0 shutout. Not exactly elite.
C’mon. It was an Elite loss. Don’t sell that team short!

VDA.

If the McLean coaches are so good and BRYC's so bad, why are the programs even in the ECNL standings (BRYC is ahead in three age groups, McLean is ahead in the other three) despite McLean having a huge rec program and (so we're repeatedly told) being the premier ECNL destination for talent in the region.
Seems like those Ferraris should being doing better against the Hyundais.
I think the BRYC coaching comments are more a matter of likability more so than coaching ability. At least one has a very polarizing personality.

Lol. Ideal? Ideal to pay all that money to “shut down” for 4 months and then overload the body the rest of the time to get the games in.
This is why the DA is appealing for so many.
Why must you be so misleading all the dang time. Are you getting paid for this?
What is so misleading? The PP said it is ideal that club soccer is basically shut down for a fall season. I responded and asked why it is ideal to pay so much money to play half the time?
Not all ECNL is the same. Some clubs train year round regardless of HS seasons. However, even in those situations, trainings are not always well-attended. I know this because I have lived it as a parent. Virginia is particularly problematic in this regard because the fall has private school kids missing training and the spring has the public school kids missing.
It is unreasonable to expect that, with all else being equal, ECNL development can be the same as GDA when the attendance at GDA trainings and games is consistently almost 100% for 10 months of the year and 4 times a week.
Now of course, the quality of who is doing the training and competition of the other players in the trainings matters a great deal. But to sit here and say that ECNL clubs train anywhere near as much as GDA is what is misleading.
DD is an ecnl player in NOVA. Her club provided training through the spring. Currently they are offering summer training 3 times a week in conjunction with their U23 team. Usually 18-24 23’s and 20-30 high school players between 3-4 coaches. Some ecnl clubs provide that kind of environment and some do not. Do your homework.[/qu ote]
