In 10 years, you'll see how silly all this is
Such a tired and boring comment. Why are you reading this forum?
Think deeper.
Why do you want really want all the local teams to play? Bragging rights? Do you know who the top 04 te was in 1998? No? Why not? If your daughter team wins the tournament does she get a college offer? No? Then what does she get? Nothing?
So why do it? Bragging rights for adults who want to justify their choices.
Wrong. You’re over analyzing. Competition for the kids. They care about it more than we do. That’s why they play elite level. Else, they’d just play regular travel or rec. Plus local tourney means shorter travel for good competition.

Fair point +1
I don't care either way, but seems your logic would deduce that it would be for bragging rights only. What is the end fruit in which all players are seeking? Probably not to rub it in to another 14 or 15 y/o kid.
Don't discount the competitiveness of U14 or U15 players. A lot of these kids go to school together, some get along, some don't. But they would all enjoy proving themselves on the field. And if they didn't then maybe its time to reevaluate what we're all spending thousands a year on.

This is an rather delusional perception of the NoVa soccer landscape. At U16, BRYC would take FCV. At U17, BRYC and McLean would crush FCV; that FCV team being ranked 20th in the DA is a sign of weakness of that league. At U19, McLean was at least even with FCV this year and next year BRYC will be. Of course, FCV won’t show up to a tourney to play ECNL teams so you can keep living the dream.
Thank you for the laugh.
06: vda beats fcv

04: FCV is the best

Lol.
The funniest is the 05.
Agree. 05 FCV would beat McLean and VDA. I’ve seen all of them play. No one in NoVa can hang with FCVs top 4 to 5 players in that age bracket. Rest of the players on these teams are comparable. To bad all of these coaches are too scared to play each other for fear of recruiting. Would love to see Bethesda ECNL (with new Mont. Rush additions), Pipeline, McLean, VDA, FCV, and Arlington play each other in a little 05 Aug. preseason tourney. They could even play indoors at the SJ to stay out of the heat. Throw MU and Loudoun in there to make two 4 team groups. Call it the Beltway “Candle” tournament. (Note the word scramble of the letters in ECNL and DA). Do the same with 04s thru 02s on successive weekends, picking top 8 area ECNL/DA programs in the area at each age group. Come on Clyde and CZ and others ... you can make it happen ...
Then you don’t know what your watching. Take the coaches out of it. No joy-sticking allowed. xFCV would have serious problems. Soccer is a thinking game and teams/players who have coaches that joystick do not turn out the way people believe in the end.
