Maybe I'm naive as parent to a younger elementary kid, but what parents let their kids watch this vapid crap?
You are naive.
At a certain age your child is going to watch stuff you don’t agree with.
OP, don't worry: my daughter is 11.5 and she still only gets online for homework purposes, within my sight. You do not have to throw up your hands at any preset point and say, "Ahh, well! Kids will be kids!"
I'm the PP who asked--my kid is only in 2nd grade, and gets almost no screen time unless we're traveling, or it's family movie night. Oh, and occasionally a Netflix cartoon on the weekends (but typically it has to be in the language of her immersion school).
Just kind of horrified to think that she would get into these "influencers" later, and that she'd have enough unproductive time that she'd want to sit around watching it regularly instead of HW, reading a book, or extracurriculars.
Ah, you’re going to be one of those helicopter parents who pushes their kids to be stressed & over scheduled so they’ll avoid YouTube “influencers”? Got it.
PP here. Yes, we're a somewhat strict immigrant family, I'll own that. I'm just hoping my kid doesn't see social media personalities as shallow and spoiled as this one as #goals to look up to or emulate!
Even with strict parents teens will find their way to social media and influencers. They become more influenced by their friends and the high school environment. They just hide it and go behind your back.

“We are no longer airing the episode on March 17, but we are not cancelling the show,” a representative for Crown Media, Hallmark’s parent company, told Variety. “The show is one of our best performers in the Sunday night slot, and were are exploring all sorts of creative options moving forward.”
Hallmark is SERIOUS about this. First she's fired, now they're pulling new episodes yet to air? Wow.
Well..almost every star on hallmark has a "clean wholesome image" for the most part. This is not surprising at all.
bummer, I liked her as an actress in shows and movies. She plays characters that are squeaky clean but keep in mind they don't call it "acting" for nothing. So apparently she is very good at it since in real life she was anything but.
I think it's a mistake on Hallmark's part.
+1...Christians are supposed to practice forgiveness, second chances. Seventy times seven, chances.
Too bad. I have been watching Lori for almost 40 years. Hopefully someone will give her something quickly.

I agree. This is an integrity issue. If you are willing to do this who knows what else you are willing to do. I wouldn't be in business with a liar and fraud. I loved Lori and still do but these are the consequences and she knew it when she did it.

WHY!!! I truly do not understand this mentality. She did something very wrong, as did her husband. who cares if you've been watching her for "40 years". wrong is wrong IS WRONG!

Come back when she’s 13...
then 15...
then 17...

Anonymous wrote:Will she and her DH and others actually serve time? That is what matters. Serve time, because house arrest and all that other BS is just yet another example of privilege getting away with everything. I am an immigrant, my DH is American and I was jumping with joy when DD was accepted to UMD and we chose other instate school for DS as we couldn't afford Delaware even or Boulder as out of state. And DS was offered legit spot on DI teams but they didn't offer athletic scholarship, he was good, but not good enough for a scholarship. Even if they thought we could afford out of state, we know we can't, no way we can afford 50K in Boulder yearly with 180K or even now over 200K income. I want them in prison. And my DD was offered Dean Scholar at another private college, and 23K in scholarship, which still makes it over 40K for DH and me and crushing her by telling her, sorry we just can't afford it. And out story is nothing compared to struggles of many families like mentioned above. In fact we are privileged so much as it is! The way I tell it to DD is, UMD is good enough because it is what we can afford and stop being a whiny DMV brat because it is an awesome school.
