I will keep making sure other parents not at Spirit know what's going on so they don't get tricked like we did. FCV parents said numerous times FCV never sits an age appropriate player to play up another. It's been said on thos forum time and again. I also know personally people at the club and they also say it is never done. In fact, I can't find another club who does, not even Spirit MD.

Just us.

So yes, I will warn and continue to warn. What a horrific mistake I must now suffer with until I can get my DD off this team.

And since you must be the benefiting 04 parents, congratulations for a hand well played. Getting a whole club to cater to...nothing special. Good job.

And again, that is ignoring the issue of 03s who did make the team, are on the team and would sit so an 04 who does already have her own team, can take time on the U17 team.

More politics. It's disgusting. This club is going down hill fast.

You should move to FCV. No politics there. They would never be dishonest with you. They would never ever sit someone on the team so a guest player can play...BWAHAHAHA!

Sorry, that's not politics at all. You have no idea who will start or sit and you have been incessantly bitching all summer.

The fact is that you are a WS hating troll and that has been proven so many times in this thread it isn't funny.

No o4 is that special at Spirit. FCV has a couple of exceptional girls that maybe are, but not VA Spirit.

Let me guess, your DD is one of the exceptional FCV players. LOL.

You are making assumptions about VA Spirit 04. Nine of the players on the team are new.

Interesting information given some of the numbers that were being thrown out here earlier in the thread...

FCV U15s = 18
FCV U16/17 = 22

Arlington U15 = 17
No U16/17 team

Wash Spirit VA U15s = 22
Wash Spirit VA U16/17 = 16

Wash Spirit MD U15s = 18
Wash Spirit MD U16/17 = 17

Yep. Looks pretty evenly distributed to me, across the age groups. I imagine Spirit VA plan to play some of those 15s with the 16/17's. Doesn't look like the dumpster fire that was advertised.

That is kind of a dumpster fire actually to play those U15s with the U17s. What about the 03 EDP players? That screws them over. Or did we decide they don't matter?

No, actually it isn't a dumpster fire at all. Good 15s can play with 17s no problem. Puberty is long past an issue. My God, you have issues. Unfortunately, EDP was a reality for all going in, and everyone knew it. Roll your eyes at yourself.

That's not the point. It steps on the 03s that were told they would be given an opportunity to play on the DA. Since maybe you want your little Mia on the U17 team, I'm sure all you think about is her, even when she already has a DA team to play on.

However, the carrot for the 03s is the opportunity to be part of the DA. If Spirit is going to step over them to the 04s, then all those 03 EDP girls should leave now. The message is clear.

They did have the opportunity. They had the summer to show that they should be DA vs EDP. This isn't a Spirit specific issue. Would you rather have been to FCV, where based on less data, you were turned down for DA and had to settle for the Elite team instead? This was a chance for the players to have an "extended tryout" with a guarantee of at least playing on the EDP team and training with the DA team. If the worst case outcome, which everyone was aware of, wasn't acceptable, the appropriate response was to tryout elsewhere and select based on that.

The U15s have 24. There are 2 players not on there that I know are not only on the FT roster, they are starters.

I should clarify: the WS VA U15s. So I don't know if there are missing players from the other rosters as well.

Maybe they’re not starters anymore . . .

They are. Saturday will prove that out. If I'm wrong though - which if we were in person, I'd bet money I'm not - I'll come on Sunday and give my mea culpa.

If FCV believed or wanted your player to participate they would have reached out to you.

So then is this poaching or legal under DA rules?

Poaching is hard to prove and happy players generally do not leave.

And this is an anonymous board with no legal repercussions! It does though peak the curiosity. But no big deal. Another poster clarified more and is more similar to what other clubs do. It's hard to believe they only take players if they initiated the recruitment. In fact, from the players that I know that went there this year, I don't think all were recruited. Some reached out to FCV.

Anyhoo, the original question is how FCV runs its practices and so forth. Like I heard the DP players always practice with the DA team, so that means, what 25 or 26 U17s (based on PP), still 21 U19s, I'm unclear on 04s. How many teams practice at once? One FCV family told me 4 coaches watch each team during each practice. Is that accurate? And how much does FCV have players training up (and how often) or playing up?

It's very interesting to hear about a club which - no matter what - has certainly had a long track record of successful teams.

Very few kids play up. They only have two real coaches the rest are parents.

Thank you for the information. In comparison, WS routinely plays up all the time, deserved or not, under-challenged or not, short on numbers or not. Of course, some of that is parent driven, and some of that is WS driven. WS plays up players even when it means sitting age appropriate players. They did it last year, and they said they will do it again this year.

“Deserved or not” is just your opinion.

As is everything else posted on this forum.
