They see themselves as victims. Chanting crap like "blood and soil" (Borrowed from the Third Reich incidentally) implying minorities don't belong is a good example. Their leaders like Trump have convinced them they are victims. Nobody plays the victim better than Trump. Such ideas are fed by the anti-immigrant pablum of Miller, the anti-Muslim rhetoric of Gorka, and with it all assembled in a pretty package by Bannon in Breitbart. They tell them their jobs are being stolen by immigrants. Then people like DeVos and Sessions who persuade them that their seats in college are being stolen by black people get into the act. No perceived jobs and no future leads to violence. They think they are owed all this because of their heritage. They just don't get how America works.


Just to add a bit, if you are kind of a moron, can't seem to get your normal adult shit together, can't seem to make a relationship happen, can't figure out how to have a happy life....well, it seems kind of inevitable that you might buy yourself a gun at Walmart, maybe a fast car, some beer, watch some Fox news and start figuring out who you should hate because they obviously ruined your life. And I can see where it would really piss you off that people won't idolize Civil War generals who just wanted to help guys like you take your rightful place in society, you know, better than everyone else.
