If anything, the books strongly hint to Tyrion being Tywin's only true child. The twins (Cersei and Jaime) may have been fathered by King Aerys, who took some liberties with Tywin's bride on his wedding night (after which he quit being the Hand of the king, and probably why he betrayed him during Robert's rebellion.) So I don't give much credence to the theory that Tyrion is a Targ.

This show is really setting up Ramsey Snow for a torturous, miserable death. I guess since Joffrey died there hasn't been enough of a villain?

The on is headed back there right? That's the only reason I care, tho I liked his sister too. The kings moot storyline and the uncles are incredibly boring. I can't see theon successfully taking over the iron islands tho.

I hated the kingsmoot in the book too. But Ian McShane is supposed to be playing one of the iron born, and I'm very much looking forward to seeing him.

Also, I think the Iron Islands are relevant to the current story, in previews for this season Yara is seen in Meereen, Dany's fleet was just burned, if she wants to sail to Westoros anytime soon she is going to need ships!

Plus I'm not feeling the actress who plays Asha/Yara. She is not badass enough.

Overall this episode was mostly a continuation of the season premier ... Ramsey usurped power, no surprise there. Drogon dozed while Danaerys remained captive. Jon Snow is revived. A handful of characters sit around Mereen wondering what to do next.

Imthinj things will pick up next episode.

Wights can't speak. Beric Dondarian could after being resurrected by Thoros of Myr, so I would assume Jon will be able to speak.


But Jon has been dead for longer than Berric was, so maybe he won't be able to? There is some evidence in the books to support this, that someone who has been dead for longer may not be quite the same when resurrected.


Lady Stoneheart can't speak because the Freys cut her throat. But in the books Thoros resurrects Beric and Beric resurrected Catelyn with a "kiss" by breathing in fire and breathing it out into the moth of the dead person. That would have been much more dramatic to show on TV than some hair-cutting!!


I knew I remembered some kind of fire kiss! I was expecting Melisandre to take her clothes off and climb on top of Jon for a fire kiss, because Melisandre always takes her clothes off, and she's tried to get naked with Jon before.

But beyond the inability to speak, Lady Stoneheart is a bit...touched. From what I remember, the books seem to indicate that part of the reason for this was her being dead for a few days. Beric also eventually lost much of himself dying so many times.

I kept wanting Melisandre to turn to the others in the room and say, "Cutting his hair has nothing to do with the spell. I just don't like his hair."

I LOVED Davos's speech to get her to try. "Well, f*ck him, then...I'm asking the woman who made believe in miracles." But then again, I just like Davos. He is one of the few good and honorable characters, like Ned Stark was.

I joked to DH that I thought the focus on the hair cutting was the showrunners' way of trolling the fans who monitor(ed) Kit Harrington's hair to see whether or not he was filming this season. Long hair=he must be alive on the show! Or not.
