Guess they were not feeling "prime time tv" ready after two nights in the pokey. Takes several showers to get that stench off.

I'm the PP who said I wasn't sure if I'd intervene.

They're in their mid 40s with a 2 and 3 yr old; they had kids pretty close together likely cause that window was closing. Now they're stuck with 2 needy toddlers after having been DiNKS for 2 decades. I'm sure they were sick of the story time, bath time, act like everything your kid does is utterly fascinating routine and just needed a few hrs away. I bet they booked a sitter who cancelled last second, didn't have anyone who could step in and said f--- it, we're going anyway. How do we make it happen? And this is the plan they devised.

Stupid as it was, I still don't see it as any of my business or the business of the state dept atty who watched the car for 20 min. I honestly don't see caring enough about someone else's toddlers who are secured in a car -- cold is not going to harm them for 2-3 hrs -- but obviously that's just me.

Yeah both of them are on the older side so wondered about that, too. They obviously wanted them (no offense to other older or younger folks and their kids).

This was not a moment. This was a thought out plan that lasted an hour. What is as scary to think about is, HOW WERE THEY PLANNING TO GET HOME? I think it is safe to assume they were not going to grab the kids from the car and walk 10 min home. Nothing about their actions tells me this was likely. So yes, after leaving those kids in the car for an hour while they drank they were going to drive those kids home. This is beyond "not a great moment in parenting"

The footage of those two losers racing away from the camera crew was just the laugh I needed tonight.

Totally off topic, but one article says the mom is 45 years old (and the other article says she is 46.) She clearly had her kids later in life..I wonder if she did ART or is just extremely fertile. Not passing judgment here. I am 46 with a 15 month old. I just thought her age was just another interesting aspect of the story. Very sad, though....

Only they NEVER in one hour checked in and car was around the corner on a City street.

The daughter was hysterically crying in the car.

It wasn't longer than an hour--but it would have been-- because Police went in and arrested them.

Nothing can justify this scenario.

You wonder why if they were "monitoring" the kids through the iPhone, they didn't hear the police getting into the car?

Freezing temperatures aside which would be an obvious deterrent to leaving them unattended, were they not even slightly worried that someone might abduct their kids?
