How can you fit into a 2-4 at your height when I weigh the same (137) at 5'6 and I am a solid size 6?

When this thread started I weighed about 10 lbs less and was a 0-2, but now, post-kids and in my early 40s, I'm 5'5" and 118, size 2 in vanity sized brands, size 4 otherwise.

I'm 5'6" and was 120-130 until I had my kids, and I was never smaller than a 6, often an 8. I assume it's because I'm a true hourglass, though I've seen some vanity sizing happen in some of my favorite brands over the years, too.

5'7 and 135 lbs. I work out a lot, including strength training, and I'm an hourglass with 24 inch waist. I'm a true 4 in non-vanity brands and 28 in high end Jean's- I have a bootie. Fitness level, stomach fat, and body shape are so much more important than bmi. My friend has a bmi of 30 and she's a fitness instructor and fit AF.

I’m 5’7 and weigh about 130, where a size 4 generally. I’m too heavy (32DDD) so sometimes I’m a 4 or 6 on top, a 2 or 4 on bottom

I'm usually a 6, too, at 5'9", 128. Occasionally a 4 but never a 2. Must be shopping in the wrong places.

I posted above - I am 5'5" and 142-ish and a 4 in designers like Nicholas, Jay Godfrey, Veronica Beard, and Theory in dresses - in pants I can be a 4-6 and in jeans I am a 27 across the board from J Crew to Mother to AG. There is definitely variation but less so for me, I guess.
