My daughter's birth mother would not, or could not, provide much medical history. We know nothing of the birth father's side except that he's abusive and his brother has an eating disorder. My daughter's pediatrician suggested a delayed schedule, spreading out the immunizations.

1. yes.
2. before it all got close to happening, i always saw myself as a dad to a son. but when paperwork was signed, and my grandmother and I were sitting across from the attorney, I just wanted a healthy baby and stopped caring about getting a son.
3. always assumed i would be.

Sorry, not watching. I watched the first few seasons - I remember Trista and Ryan - and stopped watching when I was getting drunk from playing drinking games while watching (drink every time someone says soulmate, etc.).

We have a 'family secret' that we are not broadcasting to the world for obvious (to us) reasons. We are concerned because our child is asking about this person in our family and we are resistant to telling her a version of the truth (child friendly version) because she won't be able to discern who to tell and not tell...because she wouldn't see the shame in the story. I imagine it is similar to your situation...NOT that your situation is shameful but I imagine you don't want her innocently telling other kids and then SHE is judged or misjudged or talked about, etc. Does this concern you?

Commercial real estate. I used to do Biglaw. Got laid off in the recession, opened my own practice.

Not the OP, but I assume you mean Gardasil.

As for your second paragraph, you guys sound like bigots. You are not doing your child any favors.


I'm glad to not have to decide now. Will re-evaluate when she's closer to the age it's done. In response to your second paragraph, I won''t mind if she tells people I'm gay. I am. It's true. I can't really see her being judged for my sexuality. But if it happens, I'd feel bad for the person doing the judging. They're the ones with the problem, not my girl.

Don't remember about the biglaw question (think answer is no), but yes he did answer type of law. I think it was corporate real estate. He also said that his salary was 200k recently.
