I must be the most hated person on DCUM

I am an immigrant
I am in an interracial marriage
I used and egg donor
I used a surrogate
I (well the surrogate) transferred two eggs – both took
My daughter has pierced ears with earrings
I dress my twins identically with perfectly coordinated outfits
I SAH for 8 years and I had a nanny
I now work so my kids can all go to private school
I drive an SUV
I ff all my kids
We eat 99% organic
I wear tory burch
I have 4 kids
I had the last 2 (twins) at 47
I’m an evangelical Christian
I was vegan for about a year but gave it up
My twin boys are circumcised though my oldest isn’t
I tried to have a shoeless house but my husband ignored me – he’s French (‘nuff said)
I am very fussy about germs
I CANNOT cook even with recipes. Even my husband has said that from now on when we have guests for dinner we should just have it catered
We co-slept by accident
My daughter and oldest son had occupational therapy for sensory issues
There is more but I must stop now for fear of being virtually bitch slapped by DCUM

Can I tell you something? When you are an inexperienced cook, even when you follow a recipe religiously, your food often flops.

Not.possible. Set timers, use measuring cups/spoons, etc.

Very.possible. You can't really be this dense, can you?

Yo can't really be that unable to follow step by step instructions, can you?

I am not the PP, and I can cook myself, but I can kind of see what he or she is saying. If you don't have even a basic understanding of what the terms mean, sometimes the directions can be confusing. The directions are written assuming a certain amount of shared basic cooking awareness. If you do not have even this, you may misinterpret something or misunderstand something. Example:

"Bone the chicken." A non-cook may think, "What? What does this mean? How does one do it?" Etc.

So you think those of us who cook were, what, born with the ability to bone a chicken? It's called learning. And, FYI, you can also buy boneless chicken.

There is no such thing as a non-cook. Just someone who doesn't want to to cook.

NP here, but seriously look at your argument. What do you call those of us that haven't YET learned? We say we can't cook. Until we learn. Then we can cook. Like riding a bike. before I LEARNED (it's called learning) how to ride a bike, I told people....wait for it..... I can't ride a bike. Did you think I only "Claimed" being unable to ride a bike because "anyone can learn" dumbass.

Most of us aren't arguing. Once again, it seems to be mostly reduced to breastfeeding and bigotry.

Like I said-- needs a rename.

Personally, I think being mixed is the biggest blessing. You look at all the problems in the world, and most surround arbitrary identities. Being mixed, one easily understands what truly matters when it comes to humanity and their manmade divisions.

When I see mixed children, it warms my heart in a way that I can't describe. As a mixed women, I feel happy for the open and embracing people they will most likely grow up to be.

Thankfully, the racists are being thinned out. I don't see anything negative being lost by thinning out the "cultural identity" of racists.

I'm glad you had a positive experience. But you do realize you aren't the only biracial person in the world, right? And your comment about your Mom's racist family speaks to my point about in-law relationships.

Again, glad it worked out for you, but not really seeing how seeing mixed children warms your heart any more than seeing any child.

+1. The mixed chick has the Kumbayah view of the world that just isn't real. I'm glad she's happy she's mixed but what bugs me is the perception that now "that we are mixing", the racial issues and racists will somehow disappear. The President is biracial and more racist vitriol has been thrown his way than we've seen since the 1960's. "Mixing" won't change anything.

Biracial people aren't automatically open & embracing. That is a really stupid assumption.

You, madam, are a hypocrite.

Absolutely! If we didn't benefit from undocumented workers we would al pay $10 for a head of lettuce. Americans cannot survive on migrant workers' pay. The US needs them.

I oppose mothers like you. So offended at anything feminine. Why does the color pink offend you so much? "Purposely seek out non-pink colors?" You sound like a hard-faced cold fish.

Not PP, but who cares if she doesn't want to solely dress her kid in pink princess-y stuff? There's a rainbow of colors out there. And "hard-faced cold fish"? Get a grip.

I bet this is the same person who responded in another thread to a WOHM by saying "I bet you don't even own a dress." That one had me rolling.

Define imminent peril and in danger.

Why? It's not like my personal thoughts are going to lead to public policy

No one said they were going to. I, however, can think of quite a few reasons why formula feeding is necessary, and am wondering what your perception is. That's all.

Yeah right. You want the pp to state her reasons so you can cut them down and then ultimately call her an idiot.

Well, if you can't understand why a poor woman who has to work can't breastfeed, or that some women have physical problems with breastfeeding, then you ARE an idiot. And if you're next argument is that those people shouldn't have children, you are a fascist to boot. So yeah, either way you're a ginormous ass. Congratulations!

I'm anti-CIO, anti-cric, anti-religion poster and want to add to my list that I also oppose you.

The only thing on your list I agree with is not hiring illegal immigrants, because we should be providing a path to citizenship and hiring illegal immigrants exploits them.

Why should we be doing this?

Because we want to attract hard-working immigrants like our grandparents and great-grandparents so they can displace the lazy, entitled pieces of shit who would rather soak up entitlement money than work.

No, we don't and shouldn't. The idea of the lazy American is a myth people tell themselves to justify paying their nanny/housekeeper below living wages.

The idea that America owes immigrants a better life is faulty.

Americans ARE lazy. I should know, I am American and my hometown is a sorry pile of crap, thanks to the lazy idiots who live there and don't want to work hard (most of the south is like this, btw).

If you don't think America should welcome immigrants, please turn in your passport and head back to wherever your family came over from.

Let me give you an example. About 10 years or so ago, blue collar work like construction used to be a great way for high school graduates to earn a livable wage to support their family (earning $15-20/hour). Do you think that's the case today? If not, why not? Is it because Americans are lazy or because illegal immigrants have tanked the industry and employees can be had for $8-10/hour?

Would YOU work for less to do the same job you did years ago? I would not.

No, duh. I would get a non-blue-collar job. And so should all the other Americans stuck in crap jobs.

Then, if illegal immigrants couldn't be hired for those jobs, the shortage of blue-collar workers would lead to an increase in the wage for those workers, and the problem solves itself.

I disagree. Why should Americans have to go in debt and go to school to off-set folks hiring illegal immigrants? Instead, I vote to kick them out and harshly penalize those who hire illegal immigrants. Not everyone is cut out to do blue collar work and there's nothing shameful about manual labor.
