Because the school pushes their brand. They are a legacy school (they internally use the language) because generations from families go there. Generations were also sexually abused by the same admin until the lawsuit finally got rid of him even though Ken Start said he was a “good guy”.
I’m not aware of this lawsuit- can you spill the tea??

Disgusting coverup protecting the school’s reputation over survivors. As recent as the 1990’s.

Why do you need to mention the name of your kids school so much and so loudly? I will be across the playground and hear them chattering Potomac this, Potomac that. This happens all the time. And I constantly see adults wearing Potomac hats and clothing.
We never hear little Langley parents or parents from the local publics doing this. I used to live in DC near AU and never heard people out living their lives talking about the Cathedral schools. I have many friends with kids at Holton, Landon, Prep, Gonzaga, Sidwell, STA, GDS, etc. and literally never seen an adult wearing any form of clothing for one of those schools.
So long way of asking .... what is wrong with these parents? Do they have nothing better going on in their lives? It has certainly turned me off from ever applying my kids.
Nothing is wrong with us.
Why do you hate POTOMAC?

Anonymous wrote:I personally know only one Potomac family but my God they are insufferable. The mom is a teacher/pseudo-adminstrator (I am sure she exaggerates her position) but the way she speaks is as though she is the most powerful, well-connected person in Virginia and her kids are the most advanced, brilliant geniuses who are also the post popular kids at school.
Sample size of one and no thank you.

I agree. And I’m wealthy and sent my children to our local public school. The cream rises to the top. The most successful children have successful parents. Stop being jealous.

The gag is, Sidwell parents barely come to this forum because they have nothing to prove to internet strangers. Potomac parents chime in often to talk about their school, which is a sign of unconfidence
