I think Scott brought Gary with him. Scott's the one who comes up to the steps. Poor kids and Scott, but also poor Kelley. She tells Miller & Lucy she'll be right there at that house yet the caption to her post says she's leaving for Australia in a few days. Lucy said she didn't like the smell of smoke on Kelley so Kelley says she'll change clothes but never does. Miller can't deal so just distracts himself with the soccer ball tricks and Lucy is gripping her phone like it's an emotional support blanket.

Kelley's claiming to be both poor and homeless but she has a stainless steel kitchen and tons of stuff all over. Scott gives Lucy a salad to give her mom and she barely acknowledges it. Kelley tells Scott to never come to her house again yet also tells him to bring Jackson (who presumably chose, at age 16, to not go) to her. Kelley says her lawyer said to film their meeting, but I bet the lawyer sure didn't say to put in on the internet, for all the kids' classmates and their parents and teachers to see.


Just watched the video and God this is so incredibly sad.


Horrifying. Like watching childhood trauma in real time. Why did the guys even bring the kids there? Court ordered? She's totally gone and to post it to Instagram is just beyond.

The whole thing is screwed up. Posting the visit with your kids is wrong. I feel so sorry for the kids. The boy wouldn’t stop kicking his soccer ball which is the same thing my son would do in that situation. Why can’t she stay in the mental facility? I know someone who was 5150’d and had to stay for months. Maybe different states have different laws.

I can't figure out which kid is Goose in her eyes. But if I were Scott, I'd get the TRO amended to say she can't post pics, videos or anything about the kids. Publicly posting your previously sick kid in a hospital bed is F**ked up. Posting text messages your kid thinks they are JUST sending to you, is F**ked up.

Nothing she says makes sense so there's no use in trying. It's just getting worse and worse. I feel so bad for all of them.

NP. I used to follow Kelley on Instagram and she was SO close with Miller. To see that Scott tells her Miller was crying over things she said and Kelley just completely ignores that is heartbreaking. She's really lost her way here. Her kids must be struggling so much, to see a mom they were very close with saying all these horrible and scary things.

Also, I follow Danny Roberts, her friend from their MTV Real World days - they used to be really close friends. He used to post pics and cute quips with/about their friendship. Since this all went down, while they both still follow each other on Instagram he never posts things involving her anymore. (He also follows Scott.)


I would think the loss of psychological safety would be so devastating for the kids. Kelley has gone from being a little off to now acting seriously delusional. Even if she dies not cause danger to others she could end up accidentally harming herself with meds, alcohol or reckless driving. It seems like she has totally broken with reality.

I do wonder how you treat someone whose reasoning is that bad. Is anyone here in the mental health field that can speak to how someone can recover once their sense of reality is so impaired?

One thing that occurred to me is that she has probably been troubled for some time but was able to cover it up with her beautiful looks. Maybe people could not believe that someone who appears to have everything is so mentally ill.


Well, in those texts Kelley mentions smoking. I don't know what she's smoking but she may be self-medicating and not even realize that's what she's doing.. She used to be such a health nut so this is kind of wild for her. The way to treat someone like her is to get her committed, get her detoxed from everything she's been using to self-medicate, then evaluate and medicate as needed.

Tons of wealthy pretty people are mentally ill. Sickness doesn't discriminate in that way.


I agree. I just mean that maybe people did not push her into treatment when they should because she had superficial appearance of everything being perfect. I think someone said something similar upthread. If she was more average looking would people have given her less of a pass for the mental symptoms.

Another thought that comes to mind is that Scott was trying to deal quietly with it to avoid publicity and she got to the point where he could no longer handle her.

I've never had ongoing contact with someone who is out of touch with reality but I have dealt with someone who has a personality disorder that makes them dependent and resistant to reasoning. It is maddening talking to that person. I cannot imagine how hard it is trying to deal with someone who lacks reality based thought.

It does seem like an extended manic episode. An unusually long one though. I wonder if she isn't self-medicating, therby exacerbating symptoms.
