Well, if you consider abductions by secret police to be law enforcement, I guess…

The “secret police” narrative seems confined to anonymous forums and DCUM covens. No one is dumb enough to say this in public.

You should absolutely try turning off fox and leaving the house. It might do wonders for your perspective. You could even try reading a little bit of history.

Fat chance, I know.

Are you out proudly wearing your little red cap today? Or are you still hiding behind side you are depised?

I don’t watch Fox. I’m watching Good Night and Good Luck on CNN as I type this. I’m an NPR sustaining member. All of us normal people just shake our heads at people like you.

This. I’m the pp explaining the legality of warrantless arrest and asking for evidence of ICE officers not displaying badges. I’ve never voted republican in my life. I left my job at DOJ because I don’t like the policies of this administration.

The people screaming about gestapo are living in a very small echo chamber.

No one has a problem with "violent protestors" being arrested.

No one has a problem with undocumented criminals being arrested and deported.

I have a HUGE problem with with ICE spending HUGE amounts of resources and time on non-criminals and detaining them for long periods of time in inhumane conditions. Why?

* In no way does it make our country safer. At all.

* We are currently, every day, all over the country violating International Laws and Standards because we are not set up for this kind of effort!!! We are keeping people in unsanitary cells, without enough space to lie down, and lacking basic hygiene items like soap, toothbrushes, toilet paper, neglecting medical needs -- sometimes with children. OUR COUNTRY IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LIKE THIS.

* The are taking away resources from ACTUAL CRIMINALS. Both undocumented and American citizens are having a field day laughing at us because ICE is going to schools and immigration hearings and work places to arrest people. How is this helping???

And before you all do the but Biden but Biden thing:

Here's how many individuals each of the last three presidents made leave the U.S., combining all methods (deportations, expulsions, and voluntary departures):

Barack Obama (2009-2017): Over 5 million
Donald Trump (2017-2021): Approximately 1.6 million to 2 million (includes early Title 42 expulsions)
Joe Biden (2021-Present): Over 4.4 million (includes the vast majority of Title 42 expulsions)

I hope that someday we get an accounting of how much money we are wasting on this while also trying to pass a budget to add $2T to the debt.

Mayor Bass told people her unsecured guns were “secured” when they were stolen out of her house. I wonder how many people in LA have been shot with them.

It's crazy this riot is in LA while the mayor of LA, Karen Bass, was for 6 years on the board of NED, the CIA cut-out that specializes in starting riots & street protests. Before she helped the CIA start riots, she was a community organizer, professionally organizes protests.

And they’ll be deported from that country.

Maga, please take a second to reflect. Think back to yesteryear, before the GOP decided to make illegal immigration the new boogeyman. Most likely, this subject rarely crossed your mind. This isn’t because it wasn’t an issue. It has always been an issue. A complicated one. Neither party has ever made much progress on the matter. But for the vast majority of us, undocumented immigrants have never been problematic in our daily lives. In fact, they improve it with their skilled labor, contributions to the economy, etc. So please take a second to ask yourself WHY this became issue #1 for you. Ask yourself if you are really seeing evidence that these people, as a whole, are destroying our country the way the GOP has you believing. Sure, in some areas it is a bigger problem. Yes, it is still an issue that needs fixed. But the GOP cherry picking some cases where undocumented immigrants are committing crimes while ignoring our home grown criminals does not give an accurate picture.

It is not hyperbole to say that this country is in serious trouble and things can very likely escalate to the point where many of us will need to flee…and become undocumented immigrants in another country. You know that’s a thing, right? Americans as undocumented immigrants? Maybe you think this won’t apply to you because you love everything that Trump does and would never want to leave. Consider the fact that the precedent of lawlessness that he has set will not just go away. If a democrat as lawless as Trump took office, things could change for you quite rapidly.

Please. Think about the issues that actually affect your daily lives and the lives of our most vulnerable citizens. Use that to guide you. Not the scare tactics your party is using to make you think this particular situation is so dire that only a lawless strongman like Trump can handle it.
