Hamas takes better care of them than Palestinian women. Israel is taking better care of Hamas than anyone else. How in the world are they able to do a Uber drop off and Israel doesnt go for Hamas' head but a Gazan newborn or kid playing soccer gets incinerated alive?

Strange times.

There is a reason they went first. The talks have been going on for weeks, plenty of time to get them ready for the cameras. We weren't going to see emaciated, broken people as the first 3 to go home. Those people will come later, as will the coffins. And as much as I don't want to believe it, I do think that if the Bibas boys were still alive we'd have seen them as the first to be put into those cars.

Hasbara nonsense from Hate Inc.

Haven’t you fools figured out that your 1990s era games no longer work?

This fool can't help but notice hundreds and hundreds of brand-new uniforms brought into Gaza and distributed in exactly the right time and place to be caught on camera when the world was watching. Israel is not the only side of this fight who is trying to manipulate the message. And one can't help but wonder why getting those uniforms into the region was able to occur when we keep being told Israel blocks any attempt to do so. Maybe, when they really are invested in in the process, Hamas can in fact efficiently get things into their peoples' hands. And maybe today we saw what they really think is worthy of that effort.

Liberal Zionism is still racist garbage. The IDF is massively more terrorist than Qassam (Hamas).

Zionists: people who buy your hasbara are dying off, please start acting like decent humans ASAP.

Disgusting. Hostage taking is a war crime and here you are suggesting these victims be put through more. What a vile comment.

Truly vile. Mothers of these hostages are not responsible for the deaths of innocent Palestinian children or adults. My God. Vitriol is misplaced. Netanyahu is responsible. Hamas is responsible. Both should meet the same fate.

Hamas is masterful at media manipulation, which is why you never saw any imagery of deceased Hamas combatants in Gaza, only women and children. Hamas is only releasing hostages under the pressure of their losses, their staging of events like this notwithstanding. If they were not on the verge of complete annihilation, the hostages would not be released. As it is, 47K or so Palestinians are deceased, and Hamas gained no new territory, no new privileges, no separate country, and no respect.

That’s not the standard.

So what has Hamas accomplished? An opportunity for some new apartment buildings to be paid for with foreign aid? The creation of new parking lots in Gaza? An improvement is the business prospects for Gazan undertakers?

Dear Poster, I don't think this is the right question. I think it's less about what they were trying to accomplish and more about how desperate they felt to get the world to see their living conditions.

So suicide was the path to that? They couldn't invite CNN into Gaza to take a look around? I hardly think publicity would be best achieved by invading Israel, killing, raping, and kidnapping. Not to mention to cost in lives. A peculiar choice for a course of action to achieve anything useful.

Hamas has shattered most of Israel’s stupid+self congratulatory myths. Israel has been tied in ridiculous knots by its response to Hamas, yet Hamas are a stronger fighting force than ever.

Better to ask yourself why Israel committed genocide while leaving Hamas intact. Sounds like a country with a death wish.

Doesn't sound like anything substantive, especially when measured against the Gazan lives lost. The "myths" can just as easily be Palestinian - the myth that they can ever defeat Israel, the myth that terror accomplishes anything useful, the myth that they want peace instead of to bring death to their neighbors and to self-immolate themselves in a perverse definition of "martyrdom".

As for Hamas being intact, their surrender of the hostages suggests otherwise. They certainly are not giving up hostages because they have suddenly acquired consciences and have become civilized human beings, it is instead their desperate last-ditch effort to avoid complete annihilation by inducing the IDF to stop their relentless operations against them.

Many of the people released are people held under administrative detention. So many were not even tried, let alone convicted of anything.

The youngest is 15 years old. Just a kid. 69 of the 90 are women.

I don't know who they all are, but the Times of Israel link mentions that one of the women was arrested as part of "a crackdown on nonviolent political opposition". Two other women mentioned are the sister or wife of Hamas/PFLP members, but do not list what the two women themselves were in prison for.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/palestinian-prisoners-set-for-release-include-69-women-youngest-prisoner-is-15/

Why do you think 3 for 90 is fair?

NP. I don’t think it’s fair at all given that the Israelis have 100x as many wrongly held persons. It should be 3 for 300!

You are comparing prisoners to civilians taken from a music festival. Shame on you.

I’m comparing adults in a conscription society to civilians captured from a subjugated civilian population without trial.

Why is the hasbara getting dumber by the minute?
