Looks like Dr. Abbot (the night shift attending, the one from the roof in the first episode) is back next week to help with the GSWs. The actor is Shawn Hatosy, who has been working consistently in TV forever and been in everything, for a couple episodes. He's a real HITG (hey! it's that guy) in the best possible way. He's been in four different iterations of Law & Order! I really liked his chemistry with Noah Wylie in that quick scene from the first episode and am looking forward to seeing them work together.

Agree, and especially the look on his face when he knew she wasn't looking at him. The minute she put her head on his shoulder and wasn't looking at him, his whole face changed.

I do not think Robbie was thinking about taking the pills. Agree with PP that he was contemplating flushing them to protect Langdon but struggling. He's trying to do everything properly though -- he asked Dana to do the drug audit on Langdon's cases even before this.

I think Robbie is really struggling with this decision. He is extremely angry at Langdon right now but he also has the self-awareness to realize his anger could make him do something rash. I think the reason he won't speak to Langdon is that he knows he needs space and more info before making any decisions.

Interestingly, I think it was his two conversations with Collins that pull him back from making a rash decision about Langdon. Finding out why Collins has been so irritable during the shift, and also learning she's not mad at him but carrying guilt about her abortion from when they were dating, reminds him that people are complex and things are not always what they seem on the surface. I think it brings him back to himself and helps him let go of his anger a bit.

That man was the patient that Langdon stole them from.

I think the whole flushing scene was perhaps meant to be a little misdirection. What really happens is Robby tells Santos not to discuss it. He’s thinking about covering up for his friend/student, struggling to accept the reality. He contemplates flushing the evidence, but realizes he can’t do that. If your attention was elsewhere, because there is so much happening, you could think he was contemplating taking one.

Regarding Langdon, I can't remember if I read it in this thread or elsewhere, but apparently it's not uncommon for a doctor or nurse in that situation to come back after going through some kind of program and recovery. Lots of restrictions in place (can't actually dispense drugs for a period of time, all prescriptions need to be signed off on by a supervisor, regular drug tests) but it's possible. I was surprised because I would assume that would be career ending, but on the other hand there are doctor and nurse shortages all over, so I kind of get it.

They kind of set this up in this episode with the drug seeking patient that Mohan and Whitaker were working with. When Robbie got involved and then was talking to the patient about addiction and what needed to happen, you could see him thinking about Langdon and still processing that revelation as he explained that addiction is a disease and needs treatment. It opens the door for them recognizing Langdon needs help and that if he's willing to get treatment, he might need their support for it to work.

No way he comes back as a doctor this season (in the next four hours) but I could see him coming in to enter a treatment program and I could see him returning for another season after going through the program and then he drama would be around him trying to re-acclimate to work without the drugs.
