Bethesda average for this age group. Good Defense. Offensive is terrible.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:2013G ECNL team rankings in South Carolina:
Maryland United 8
Arlington 15
Fairfax Union 19
Bethesda 22
From someone else in the North Atlantic, Bethesda is way ahead of MDU at this age group. MDU plays some great defense and keeps the scores close, but Bethesda far more talented. However, they are incredibly stubborn passing backwards and have trouble finishing. Take that for what you will.
such a bad characterization. Many ECNL teams play direct and are physical. And Many GA teams are technical and possession based. Just depends on coach and players rostered.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:2013 ECNL Girls are getting beat by the 2013 GA in the area. I would go with the local GA teams.
We are not from the area but played many DMV GA and ECNL teams this year at u13. In general, GA teams in that area are physical and direct. ECNL teams tended to be more technical, possession based, and keep the ball on the ground.
How good a team is can change as the girls grow into the ball size and field. Both still too big for 12 year old girls. Pick whatever style you think is best for your daughter. Of course, that can all change with the age change.
not in this area at 2013z. ask arlington, FVU and VDA. All losing to local GA teams.Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:2013 ECNL Girls are getting beat by the 2013 GA in the area. I would go with the local GA teams.
Did you miss the whole part about the AG change and teams re-forming? Also, the top ECNL teams still beat the top GA teams.

I know there are no guarantees, but, given that she's dropping down, she should compete for a spot on most if not all ECNL or GA clubs in the DMV. How do the 2014 teams stack up? Anything in GA worth looking at? Any clubs have particularly strong coaches at U13? She's going to start contacting coaches about attending practices, but there's a limit to how many she can practically attend.
Loudoun which will turn into NVA GA, McLean GA AND SYC GA all have strong groups at 2014 this year.

This is spicy. Is her club inside the beltway or outside the beltway?
