She was literally just taking appropriate action as a former soldier to avert a needless, embarrassing war, of which there had been many up to that point. First of all, the US isn't fighting in Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting in Russia, not the US. Their only strategy is (a) stay alive and (b) push the Russian invaders out. Period. The US neither sets Ukrainian policy, nor controls their military.
