Because of team mergers in the Mid Atlantic the cup games will give the winner an automatic spot to the playoffs. There will be 4 groups. BEACH, VDA, and FVU are in one group. NVA, Richmond, and Arlington are in another group. Then the NC teams will follow the same format. Brackets aren't out but I imagine the winner of VA will play the winner of NC for that automatic bid.

Anonymous wrote:This is ridiculous lol but entertaining. The short of it is there is a long season ahead of both teams. However as of now VDA had the better weekend. But saying the scores in the 2010s game came from PWSI players is pointless as it took a team to build the plays out from the back and for FVU parents to say the reason for the weekend losses is due to the merger or missing players is horrible as well. This was cup games and the teams will meet again in league play.

Nice try. There were no local ECL games on the schedule.
League Cup games. But the u15 one was cancelled due to weather. To be rescheduled.
It was 2-0 VDA before the lightning canceled the game.
Does the score stand?
The game was postponed, not cancelled. It will resume at a future date (TBD) with 9 mins left in the first half and the score will be VDA:2 and FVU: 0
The game has to be restarted. You can’t start in the middle of a half.

Yes. It just goes to show why clubs do what they do. VDA has emerged as a leader by recruiting top players from other clubs. That’s not a knock. It’s how every top club operates not just here but all over the country. Recruiting is everything. Players have the choice where they go.

Na, but nice try. Woman now starting for Florida State was only VDA player rising up through VSA. If I were a parent watching my team get smashed annually, I'd go look too. Every 2006 girl is heading to a D1, mostly ACC.
The two scorers in 2010 are homegrown PWSI. VDA is mostly VSA/PWSI but is definitely attracting the top talent from other clubs. McLean needing Vienna and their recreational coaches doesn’t make sense.
