Omg please don’t be! There’s a lot of us regulars out there.
My senior: 5 AP lang (but we didn’t doubt this - she’s an amazing writer)
4 AP 2D Art
3 AP Psych
2 AP Bio
My freshman: 3 APUSH

Thanks! Bio is tough and if she’s a STEM major having had this in HS will be a big advantage in college.

My kid is regular, too, and I'm pretty proud of the two 4's, one 3 and one 2 she received. Ok, we were hoping the 2 would be higher as DD did extremely well in the class, but she unfortunately just got one FRQ she struggled a lot with and she's not a great test taker; her strength is applied knowledge/papers/projects. Interestingly, almost all of her friends got their lowest score on the exam for whichever science class they were taking. Makes me wonder if the science department at the HS isn't "teaching to the test" for whatever reason. While I'd have loved for DD to get some college credit out of it, I know she learned a lot so I'm not all that concerned that it didn't translate to one exam.

At our MCPS hs, per most recent school profile, only 1 of 60 kids got a 1 on the BC calc exam. 14 out of over 250 did on APUSH. Suggest looking at your hs profile to see whether it’s your school or your kid. It’s not MCPS broadly.

My son got a 4 in APUSH at Northwood as a freshman. He reached out to his other friends in the class and two of them got 4s and 3 of them got 3s. It depends on the teacher - it’s not a whole MCPS thing. Also you can ask the pass rate at the school and see how the population held up as a whole.
He should be proud of a 4. 9th grade is really young to be taking APUSH! My DC’s school doesn’t even allow AP classes until 11th grade (and you have to apply in with many being rejected).
He’s so proud - over the moon. So are we! It was a surprise particularly due to his age.
