The focus *should* be on Trump. He's an existential threat to democracy. Given that, I'd vote for Biden's corpse.
You basically already did that in 2020.
Now you have a leaderless party fumbling around for a candidate. The time to do that was the primary season, but the Dems have such a fear of their own voters that they stomped on the primary process and kept your walking corpse in charge of reading the teleprompter.

If Biden is not fit to serve as a candidate, how can he continue to serve as POTUS for the next six months? Obviously he can't. The Dem party would lose whatever credibility it has left.
So the new President would be VP Harris, right? Not so fast. She will immediately be in the midst of a scandal, since she has continuously lied to the American people about Biden's fitness to serve. As of today, she is sticking to that lie, and it would be incredibly hard for her to reverse course. ("gosh, I just took a closer look and noticed for the first time that he is failing.") So if Biden does step down and finally acknowledges his obvious unfitness, how does Harris explain her statements immediately following the June 27 debate that he is totally fine? I don't see how she does that without admitting that she lied through her teeth and put partisan politics ahead of National security by keeping an unfit President in office. And the Republicans in Congress will immediately convene hearings about "what did she know and when did she know it," because it appears that Biden has been declining for a long time, so Harris was part of a major cover-up for some portion of Biden's 3.5 years. (possibly Harris knew as early as 2020, which is why Biden never left his basement).
Harris will be like Spirew Agnew in Watergate, when Nixon resigned, but the VP had too much of his own baggage to assume the Presidency. The next in line to the Presidency, the Speaker of the House, was Gerald Ford in 1976 and today will be Mike Johnson, a Republican.
Will it play out in such a way that Johnson actually serves the remainder of Biden's term, as Ford did for Nixon? Who knows. But if Biden resigns, Harris (who was unpopular even before her June 27 statements) will be fending off those accusations as more or less her full time job for the next six months. It will dominate the news cycle, Harris will inevitably blame it on racism, and the political left will be arguing directly against the US Constitution, which says the Speaker is next in line to the Presidency. By comparison, Trump will appear the non-crazy, non-scandal ridden adult in the room.
So for all the Dems calling for Biden to bow out of the race, please think a couple of moves ahead, and ask if that is what you really want. It could get way uglier than it is already!

As far as scandals go, this is incredibly low on the list. What else is she supposed to do? I don't think the American public cares that much. They might just be relieved to have someone younger than age 75 on the ballot.
willfully covering up that the Commander in Chief has major cognitive issues? c'mon man.

Decent cognitive ability
US looks stupid if we elect such an odious man
Biden:
Cognitively not there
Will surround himself with yes men and hidden figures. We won’t really know who is running the country (but presumably they aren’t wackos and have decent political experience)
Dem voters are voicing displeasure in him as a candidate and asking him to step aside. He and his inner circle are ignoring the very voters he claims he wants to “serve.”
US looks vulnerable if we elect such an incompetent man
I’m (NC voter) leaning toward holding my nose and voting for Trump. I think we have to send a message to Biden, his yes men, and the DNC that they can’t shove an incompetent candidate down our throats.
I’m a registered Dem and leaning this way also.
I don't think voting for Trump is sending the message you think. Voting third party would be sending the message - although the third party candidates are a hot mess too.
This isn’t real. Absolutely no Democrat will pull the Trump lever, ever, after the Supreme Court and Project 2025 and J6. Ds just need to get out to vote and they have the numbers to win, and that’s why the Trumpies want this chaos and infighting. Biden already beat Trump once, he’ll do it again.
Wishful thinking. Nobody but the ideologues are voting for an 82 year old with rapidly declining cognitive abilities. It is obvious to everyone that Biden is not finishing a second term when he would be 86. He will clearly be incapacitated and incapable of managing the massive responsibilities of being president sooner rather than later.
Trump can still finish a sentence. And that alone is enough to win under these pathetic circumstances. Many otherwise reliable democrats will stay home rather than vote for a geriatric that belongs in a nursing home. Many will be resentful of the Democratic Party for putting the country in this position. And many will vote for Trump because Democrats didn't offer a viable alternative. No average American cares about J6. And only people lost deep into the recesses of the internet have even heard of project 2025.
The polling is terrible for Democrats. And it's only going to get worse.
No, Democrats are not voting for Trump. You’re wrong about people not knowing about Project 2025 and wrong about people not caring deeply about J6, the Supreme Court, etc. Trump is deeply unpopular with just about everyone outside the MAGAverse and push comes to shove they will vote against him rather than FOR someone else. And Trump has never been coherent or truthful, and that has always been clear. Biden on his worst day is better than Trump on his best day.
If Biden is incapacitated at any point after the election, we’re perfectly happy for Harris to assume her duties as President. That’s what she’s there for, per the Constitution.
You MAGAts want us to throw over Biden but we’re not falling for it. We can and will win.
As a conservative and an adamant voter against Biden, I am thankful for your stubbornness and your unfounded faith in the current White House resident and his sidekick.

Not weak? He needs naps and has a bed time.
