Definitely true. And you see it in the high schools results. Outperforming w/admissions offers at private colleges and under performing with admissions at public colleges.

Our anec-data doesn't matter. As we saw on the endless "I'm worried" thread, not all 3.8s are the same. So who cares where a 3.8 at Philips Exeter or Choate Hall or Georgetown Day or Urban School SF or Menlo School or Brearley NYC or Riverdale Country NY got in if you go to a different type of high school.
GPAs are not an objective number except against classmates in the same school taking the same difficulty of courses.
