They met backstage and talked. Perhaps the show runners were telling her to hurry up as the show did run late.
Yeah, I think at the end of the day, she's not a rude person. She's just not. Love her/hate her music, you can never call her rude. So she made a gaffe, it happens. It was a big moment and she screwed up.
I mean, judge by her actions. I actually thought she was rude all night. I thought her first speech was rude and weird with the album announcement, and I thought the second one was even worse with the fake shock and her dragging Lana up and ignoring Celine and then her speech was very self-centered and lacking in awareness.
I would not previously have said she is a "rude person" but her behavior at the Grammy's was very rude IMO. I would not dismiss it as "a gaffe." Maybe she was drunk or on something, maybe she was just in a weird mood, but I found her behavior quite rude on a night filled with actually a surprising amount of sweetness and kindness, for the music industry. The fast car duet, Miley getting her first Grammy and using the opportunity to praise Mariah, that Joni performance.
Taylor and Jay were the sour notes for the evening for me and I think they are both responsible for their tacky, rude behavior. It was especially obnoxious coming from two people who are so successful and have been honored/lauded so many times.
Ig she hand't "dragged Lana" up there, you would have pointed out that Lana sang on Midnights and deserved to be up there, too.

But she seemed very lucid. She also performed the song (not just going through the motions ). I liked the perspective of those lyrics coming from an elder. It was well done.
Agree. The lyrics were beautiful. I was trying to explain to my Gen Z daughter that Joni is the older generation's TS. I'm a Xennial and don't even feel like my generation is familiar with her so now I'm going to dig a little more into her music.
That's an insult to Joni. So much more talented than Taylor.

We watched the TS Folklore documentary with my 70something in-laws a couple of years ago, and they were very impressed, calling TS "The Joni Mitchell of her generation."

She has such command of the stage and a level of maturity you don't see when she's at these award shows or in the suite watching Travis. Maybe this is just her security blanket like what she does when she's in a situation she's not comfortable with like any of us might be in a social situation. Performing is her wheelhouse. Being in the public eye or attending these awards shows maybe isn't and she resorts to child like behavior to cope.
I wonder if seeing up close Travis celebrate with his team mates so much made Taylor feel like she wanted to have her team up there too. She specifically said she feels so alone. Even in her concerts she has dancers and her band and singers.

And then feeling ridiculously bad about snubbing anyone. I think Taylor is at a time where she feels she has to be the same otherwise it will wreck what she has. She can’t turn it off but I expect that she will learn from this and hopefully get a little more graceful.
She has been popular for awhile but now with her relationship with Travis, the SB, the Grammys…all good stuff for her but even for someone at her lever of success, it has to be incredibly overwhelming. FWIW, I think she is afraid of growing up. How does she move into the next phase of her life and career.

I am surprised this more people haven't said it. she's under the influence of something and all of her inhibitions flew out the widow. She's touring, going to football games, and in the midst recoding her album. is that not nose candy
