Happy Thanksgiving OP. I'm tearing up a bit as well, what a relief that she is starting to recover. Lots of virtual hugs to your two girls for all they've been through, and you and your DH as well. May things only get better and better.

OP here, thank you so much, I'm not sure a good way to virtually stay in touch with some amazing people on this thread who have helped so much.
We haven't made it home in time for thanksgiving. But we're getting there, it's a slow process, but Grace is doing well. Hopefully we'll be able to consider discharge by the end of the weekend. So I guess we'll have two thanksgivings this year!!!
So grateful for all the support, Grace has been drawing lots of thank you cards for the nurses , and there's a little section for the support from here to keep mommy sane.

We can sleep with her now so DH is staying the night and I've come home for the first time, although my sleep schedule is gone. I will take care of myself but in having two beautiful girls they became so much of our life and I'd do anything they need whenever. I'll need to try to not be over cautious with her. I'll be panicking every time she starts sports, is doing something silly.
I've not had chance to say this but I am so proud of Ava, who's handled Mommy and Daddy and Grace leaving her with Grandparents incredibly well. There's been tears but no tantrums. She will also be getting lots of treats for helping us so much by being so brave. She's not spent more than a night without us before. I've caved and allowed her to stick to me tonight.
The turkey is amazing!!! I'm sure another fluffy toy will be more than welcomed by Grace!!
I wanted to add my daughters names here as this post has felt so personal. I'm not sure if I know anyone here. Grace last night said a little prayer of thanks back to every single person posting on or reading this post.
Happy Thanksgiving! This thread is proof that dcum can be a wonderful place.

I’ve got tears running down my cheeks right now OP. Thank God for doctors and medicine. I’m so happy for all of you. Will say another prayer for Grace and Ava, who had to be so strong while you cared for Grace. Love to you all.

I’m hoping that the fact this thread dropped off is because you’ve had hands full spending lots of time with your recovering daughter.

The profound relief you feel when you realize your child is going to be okay after a scare like this is the best feeling in the world.
And the turkey squishmallow is pretty great, too
