I’m in a show which is sucking my time. I’m not giving up and am doing pretty well. Just super busy but things will calm down next week.

Failure is not an option!

Have to get up and do chores.

Sugar addiction is real, so is the opposite. I had an aversion to anything with sugar or anything sweet (even sweet fruits) while I was pregnant. I ended up losing 28 pounds by 30 weeks. Incredible! I kept away from sugar afterwards and never gained anything back (I was average before pregnancy). I was doing great until I had 2 horrible losses. I turned to sugar and got addicted again and it has been a hard road since. Chewing gum is working to an extent but the hormonal times of the month are VERY hard!

Hi guys, was happy to see a check in from Kate! I hope This thread doesn’t die off…

I have had two rough days. Basically just snacking and not eating real meals plus emotional eating. Life is feeling very out of control. Got my period this morning so that might have something to do with it! Im going to be gentle with myself today but try to only indulge moderately (staying close to 25?g sugar but maybe allow some extra carbs. )

Good luck everyone- Alexandra

Since I’ve been falling down approximately one day a week, I haven’t defined as Sundays. More like I plan for one “over” day a week.

Things are ok. But I need to regain focus. Cut calories and keep sugar low.

Hi guys, Alexandra here. I did really well yesterday with regard to sugar. Just one bowl of cereal with 12 g sugar for my evening snack). Plus a good workout and lots of fruit and veggies. But I weighed myself today and my weight is pretty much the same. I definitely need to crack down more if I’m going to lose any weight.

Kate, I accidentally went to the beginning of the thread and noticed you used to take Sunday’s off from your sugar limit. Are you still doing that? I feel it would be good to pre-plan some treats because I’m definitely going to eat some cake etc again at some point.

Here’s to a healthy week!

Hi Alexandra. These lives are wonderful and stressful. It’s hard. I think being aware is a good step. When I look at days where I feel like I made terrible choices, when I actually list it out , it’s not that bad. Perfect can’t be the goal.

Today was low sugar but I did eat takeout pizza for dinner. Still, healthy food otherwise and low sugar. Gonna call that a win.

Hi Kate, I am really glad you had such a successful day. My day was more mixed. Ate a of healthy food but also some chips (I know ) and chocolate covered pretzels. I’ve been really stressed for a variety of reasons and we just have too much junk in the house. Gah. I had terrible insomnia last night and ended up feeling like crap about a bunch of things including how I handled my stress but honestly it wasn’t that bad. I am realizing I have a lot of “not bad days” but very few actual low calorie days, which is why the weight isn’t really coming off. I am just going to make it through today and focus on lots of healthy foods (and coffee if I am honest) and try to set myself up for a good week.

Great work saying no to the chips, Alexandra! The more you avoid things from a bag the better, I think.

Yesterday was good. Sugar under 18g (packaged yogurt and a few chocolate chips). No snacks. Went to bed a little hungry. Going to get up and go for a run.

Here’s to a good day!!

Wow Kate that’s amazing. Good for you to not letting things get out of hand.

I had cereal twice today and a couple chocolate covered pretzels so I may have been slightly over 25 g. I realized as I was thinking about “how I did” I had basically no protein at all until lunch, so no wonder I was snacking terribly (had literally a piece of bread and then crackers, it was an insane kid/ work morning. I really need more protein and fat in my diet. Did have a healthy lunch with a ton of vegetables and then fruit and veggies with dinner. No chips, I was tempted but remembered I said I wasn’t going to. I am going to work on no chips and no treats for a bit longer and then try to work on carbs I think.

Thanks for listening and reflecting with me guys- Alexandra

Kate here. Well I broke my own rule and stepped on the scale today. It went down by 2 pounds. I am completely within my normal weight range. Maybe a touch high. Anyway, I guess it really was water retention from hormones. Perimenopause is quite interesting. In any case I am going to continue watching my calories for a bit mainly by limiting snacking.

Glad you had a great day, Alexandra! Cereal is a nice close to the day. Hope the little one feels better soon.

Fitbit says I burned over 2100 calories yesterday and I definitely ate less than that. Sugar ended at 11g. I had one snack of popcorn after a stressful meeting but overall not bad.

Today I’ll walk, keep the food unprocessed and small amounts. No snacking. Time to get up and make it happen!!

Great updates guys. Alexandra here. I am pretty proud of myself today, especially considering illness and tiredness (youngest has been sick all winter it feels like!). I was so hungry today, or maybe it just felt like it because I was tired. Ate a few chips and some teddy grahams again and I regret the chips. I think tomorrow I will try for under 25 grams of sugar and no chips! I will probably have a bowl of cereal after I workout and then I’m going to go to bed. Just ONE bowl of cereal! The evening is the hardest time of day for me.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. I don’t have any one to talk to about weight/diet in real life; my friends seem to struggle way less than I do or have completely given up/don’t care, nothing in between.

Low carb and low sugar here! 10K steps a day. 3-6 PM is difficult for me. Grocery stores always seem to be out of Light cream, which has less sugar. So I splurge on half-n-half with my coffee. Old Creamer Gal here to support.

Yes, sugar cravings do go away.

Hey, Michele. I feel the same way.

Today continues to go well. Have chicken soup with lots of veggies planned for dinner and just going to be a bit hungry for a bit. Which is fine. I guess I've been overeating.

I'll go for a walk after work and get my last 2k steps.

Bes, Alexandra, Sara, April? How are you ladies doing?
