I don't agree with the Nursing home statement, but there is a legitimate concern about elderly people with dementia voting. Some of them don't even know the current year or who is running for president. Family members will take mom to vote even though she has severe dementia believes that we are in the 1970's and that Richard Nixon is president. I don't know what the solution is, but this is becoming a bigger problem as the US population ages.

If either one actually held actual residency in the state (not just a paper one) they would have secured a huge advantage over the other in the primary. But both primary leaders were carpetbaggers, were frequently criticized for it and then it came down to Trump coming in and coronating the winner with his endorsement. One would have thought he would have learned and corrected one of his biggest mistakes of the last campaign before announcing he was running again. SMH.

He owns a home in Pittsburgh, but he doesn't spend much time there. He lives in his mansion in Connecticut and only uses the Pittsburgh home when he is campaigning. But he's still running on his "deep ties" to Pennsylvania. He's still a carpet-bagger.

I understand his position. I was born and raised in Pittsburgh. My family lived there for 34 years including the first 18 years of my life. But I went to college in MD and I have stayed in MD since. While i have deep ties to Pittsburgh and consider myself a native son of Pittsburgh, I do not consider just buying a house near where I grew up to establish my residency or my credentials to run for office there. I think he needs to actually move there and live there more than 50% of the time (the standard residency rules for most everything else) in order to qualify for the ballot.

In the 2022 election, cell phone records showed that he spent less than 10% of the time at the home in Pittsburgh, which is why he is still regarded as a carpetbagger. but the PaBOE is letting him get away with it and that's just not right.
