If you allow people who crossed the border illegally to obtain work authorization permit, you are a supporter of illegal immigration.


If they aren't going to be deported then we are looking at even worse increases in crime and unrest once government pushes them into even cheaper and more prison like arrangements or lets them fend for themselves and become homeless. As a sanctuary city NYC cannot put them back on the buses, all that can be done is to put them to work to avoid proliferation of shanty towns and strengthening organized crime.

Abortion rights will be back soon enough. It is low hanging fruit and will be decided by legislators not the president. (Legislators can overturn the veto.)

People make abortion the only issue to distract from doing anything about the border (people profiting from cheap labor, people gaining voters, mafias becoming more powerful, poor people used as pawns, children and women trafficked). Any candidate (dem/gop/3rd party) needs to make voters see that the candidate understands that.

There are other big problems too.

Voting is a right of citizenship. Allowing people here illegally to vote is yet another pull factor to encourage more to come. And, it is just wrong.

Haha, not happening, even with a lot of apartments staying empty most of the year and used as pied-a-terres. Nobody wants house guests even if it's their own family. People are already enraged that migrants get better accommodations than poor city residents and homeless. Lots of homeless families in NYC with kids born and raised here. Single male body abled migrants getting hotel rooms to trash and free food is not a popular idea with NYC taxpayers. It's why Adams is making plans to allowing them to work legally and earn their keep, and also moving them into camp like facilities probably to also discourage new migrants from coming here for cushier arrangements.

There is never enough federal money for border states. When migrants get injured or sick they go to local hospitals and those hospitals aren’t reimbursed. Every migrant child Texas ships to NYC saves the state $ 10,000 a year (what it Texas pays to educate one student) and costs NYC over $20,000 (what NYC pays to educate a child). So Texas economically benefits from busing all the migrant children out of Texas.
