Subject: Any acceptances in hand already?

My kid submitted the optional essay and the common app essay - deferred.

My student did not write the optional essay and was accepted with merit. She did, however, also apply for the honors college, which had 2 essays on its application.
Clemson doesn’t read the essays in EA

OOS, no hooks, 1340 SAT, 3.72 unweighted, 1 AP, NMSF. DD only did two extracurriculars, but did them all four years and had a leadership role in both.

DD accepted OOS EA Business 1500 SATs 4.8 unweighted GPA plus 7APs & 2DE. Offered scholarship money tba in March.

Good question -- it was a typo. DD had 3.8 unweighted GPA. Thank you for catching my errror!

But she really loves one of them and may ultimately choose it over better-known/higher-ranked schools once all the decisions are in. I'm really happy that she's found a place she loves, with a strong program for her interest, that we can afford. Whether or not the neighbors are impressed with a bumper sticker is irrelevant.

I'll be thrilled if my kid is able to go to ANY 4 year college, considering her struggles (currently a junior). If she gets into ODU, we will be thrilled. There is a school in MI on her list that is auto admit at 2.25 - still would be over the moon if she goes there.
