And I’m in a bi-racial marriage! It feels like it’s pandering and not authentic.
-1. I am bi-racial and will never forget how awesome it was to see the Cheerios commercial with a a mixed family. That lasted about 24 hours until the rage of the public that slandered freakin Cheerios. I don’t understand how something like that can be forced but seeing two black actors or two white actors doesn’t seem forced. I guess it’s true, people really do see color (even if they’re in a bi-racial marriage).

Same! I think I liked it more than my DD, which is not saying much. The Bruno song is catchy in an ear worm way but the movie itself felt so thin. Also, we are Latino and something about the cultural portrayal bugged me. I guess it's the way it leaned hard into certain stereotypes. It felt corny to me and I feel like the family dynamics left no one to root for at all. It just kind of felt like a bummer.
But we just don't get into Disney movies much at all anyway. We've tried Frozen, Moana, Luca, now Encanto, and while DD likes dressing up like Elsa, she's never asked to watch any of them again and actively panned Moana and Encanto (she found Moana too scary and Encanto boring). I feel similar about them all as I do about a lot of the Marvel movies -- they are formulaic, the characters are weak, and the climax of the movie is often the part where I am most bored and restless. But at least the Marvel movies are sometimes funny.

PREACH!

Kate Beckinsale and Liz Hurley, too! love it when there are daylight unfiltered pics on Daily Mail of these two
I just googled the unfiltered “unflattering” pics and wow, if I look like that when I am their age, I will be nothing but grateful… I mean I won’t, but it’s a nice thought.
That’s what having millions of dollars will get you.
