While my gut says Kevin will end up with Madison, I enjoyed watching him with Cassidy. With the "blonde" speech, she gives him the direct female perspective in a similar style to what Randall gave him. Cassidy reads Kevin well and I like her no nonsense approach with him. That's a valuable relationship/friendship for him to have.

They're both such special kids and do have a wonderful, if young, relationship. I would insist she finish high school rather than getting a GED though, which she could do in Boston if necessary. Lots of great Boston colleges she could attend too. Not the smoothest prospective path, but I'm with Beth on not risking their relationship. Especially after everything Deja has already been through. She's not a typical sheltered suburban kid, is mature well beyond her years. My focus would be on making sure she's pursuing her own goals, and not giving them up to support Malik's.

I’m actually confused about what they were proposing, and I don’t know if I missed something or if it’s jumbled on purpose for the show to let us know that Deja and Malik don’t know what they’re doing. It seemed like they mentioned graduating early as well as getting a GED, which seem opposed.

Randall should have suggested that Malik make the sacrifice to transfer to Penn.

Coming from Harvard, that would be an immense sacrifice.

Not finishing high school is also an immense sacrifice.

Actually this episode revealed that he does have depth of feeling for Madison, which is nice. I think she's a contender, though I love her with Elijah and do ultimately prefer Sophie for Kevin. I was dying with the "which blonde" remark, omg.

+1. I think we are going to see Sophie again, and I think Kevin is going to make a play for her and Sophie is actually going to direct him back to Madison. Kevin doesn't even realize how much he cares about Madison because Kevin is obsessed with a romantic, meant to be story like his parents had. Sophie's going to tell him he already has a family and a woman he loves - Madison.

So they go behind Randall’s back, lying to him when they got together in Boston, and now they have this additional plan, which Randall thinks is madness - and a father may rightly think that - and, what, according to your scenario, they are also going to ask Randall to pay for Deja’s college in Boston? I don’t think Randall should have to roll over like that. I wouldn’t.

Oh yes, this would have been smart! I was a little confusion by the graduating early vs GED remark too. Sounds like she could simply graduate early, so there's be no need for the GED. I'd be okay with that, not with the GED.

I guess, uhh, go Madison? I’m biased against Sophie because opposite of Cassidy I don’t like Alexandra Breckinridge. Zoe is meh.

And does it seem like they are not going to have enough time to wrap up all these story lines before the end of the series??

Well, there are 13 more episodes remaining so, yes, I'd say there is enough time to wrap them all up.

Interesting votes! I don't get the fixation with Sophie as Kevin's one true love. I always felt like his yearning for a relationship like his parents clouded his judgment with her.

I might be the dissenting vote here, but I really like Cassidy for Kevin. They have a great friendship. She has hung around too long for the writers to not make her the wife.

Ugh. Can’t stand Cassidy.
