2019 is the last year with completed FBI data. Violent crime is on the rise everywhere. Smaller cities like Peoria, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Dayton are waaaaay more dangerous than SF. But republicans don’t care. They just care about bashing SF because it fits some weird political narrative.
Um didn’t you just disprove your own narrative saying it’s gotten worse nationwide? Crime is going up? Why? Are you going to blame it all on Covid woes or are there aaaaany other reasons it might have gotten worse in the last few years? Any ideas?
My point was not that crime is not a problem. As you mentioned, I stated crime rates are going up everywhere. My point is that I don't understand why republicans always care so much about San Francisco's issues compared to everywhere else. It is weird. I think the rising crime rates are multi-factorial, and that public antipathy for the police among a segment of the left is a factor. I don't think a particular District Attorney's political leanings are an important factor for violent crime rates. For example, Joe Deters, the head prosecutor in Hamilton County, OH, which includes Cincinnati, is a pretty run-of-the-mill prosecutor. Murder rates are high in Cinci to a much greater extent than SF. The same could be said for Louisville or Dayton, or many other cities. Rising crime is only mentioned by republicans where it fits a political narrative, which is disingenuous.
We have seen - far too many times - that what happens in California eventually rears its ugly head in other parts of the country. We have seen a wave of progressive prosecutors installed in formerly moderate areas of the country (Fairfax County, for instance).
The goal is to oust these progressive prosecutors that have been bought and paid for by Soros. Get. them. all, out.
It goes way back, it's San Francisco's LGBT friendliness, and even earlier as an outpost for hippie counterculture types in Haight-Ashbury. The right views San Francisco as some kind of evil Sodom and Gomorrah.

Really? This is the narrative you're going to push? That "the right" views SF as a sinful cesspool? No, honey. Plenty of people, across the political spectrum, see SF for exactly what it is - a beautiful, once vibrant city that is now a crime-ridden, drug-laden, homeless magnet. This has nothing to do with "LGBT friendliness," you moron. Makes you feel good to gaslight, I suppose. Grow up and face reality.

Crime is up in Republican-run cities as well... but that goes against the RW narrative

Already exposed as bullshit because a lot of other cities including Republican-run ones have also had an increase in crime. Not to mention that a lot of San Francisco's mentally ill homeless were sent there by red-county Sheriffs including the population of a 1000-bed mental institution in Utah that was bussed to San Fran.

That is the biggest crock of crap.
I am a very conservative person. I have been to SF many times.... it is a beautiful city. My sibling (also conservative) lived there for over 30 years. I have other family there too.
Nearly all of them have moved within the past 5 years. They cannot tolerate the changes to the city.
I believe you. There are plenty of conservatives in the City. But the fact remains that if they moved to another American city of comparable size, it would be a move to a city with a higher violent crime rate. Vegas? Phoenix? Dallas? Higher violent crime rates. The only cities capable of supporting a major sports teams (excluding Green Bay) that are clearly safer are Salt Lake City and NYC. It sounds like your family members would have moved out of Milwaukee, or Memphis, or Cincinnati too. It still does not explain the special hatred republicans have for San Francisco.
It's not just SF. SF is in the news now because of the smash and grab robberies going on. Perhaps you have missed the threads about Philly, LA, Seattle, Portland, and other major cities across the nation that have seen a spike in crime and homicides, in particular.
These cities are all Democrat-run cities .......
