We work downtown, so Mclean much better commute. Mclean is wealthier and older crowd.
Vienna was better town for kids. Loved the trail, parks, community center, town parade, family events. Was better place to raise kids. Mclean has stuff to do, but seems less family friendly as crowd seems older. Also food options in Vienna were better than mclean it seems.
Overall now that kids are older, like Mclean better. But if kids were younger, I could see picking Vienna over mclean for a family?
Same here, although we were in 22182, not 22180.
Bought in Vienna when we couldn’t afford the houses we liked in McLean. Very family-friendly and lots of kid-oriented activities. Moved to McLean when the commute to DC got intolerable. There are a lot of people who move to McLean when their kids are already in school, and then stay, so it trends older. There isn’t as much retail and it’s less congested. I find our neighbors more reserved at first, but also more interesting when you get to know them. Prefer McLean, but could certainly see others preferring Vienna.
