Subject: 34 m/o boy just wants mamma at night
My kids had milk at night until way after 3. We would leave the bottle on their night table and they never woke us up. We never gave food and I think it is weird your son eats at night, but milk is food so that’s probably the same. Hi have several dentists in my family and they never had issues with milk at night.
I do think that parents waking up at night with a 3 year old is not normal. You guys need to do something about it right away. My youngest son who is 2 is waking up in the middle of the night… we sometimes give water, but try to avoid giving anything because it is habit forming. He used to sleep through the night before the summer, but between travel, sickness, sleeping arrangements, we messed up his sleeping. We will start working on gently sleep training him again once back in DC…. I am against sleep training btw if it involves crying

No reason to be so critical. Be constructive.
It is easy to get stuck in a bad routine. Just talk to the pediatrician and figure out the right approach.

Keep Dad on night duty. Don't go back to Mom for the foreseeable future. You aren't harming him long term, no matter how much he makes a fuss. Tell mom to plug her ears and go back to sleep. Your son needs a good night sleep more than he needs mom or food.

I'll bet OP is the dad and he refers to his child in months because that is how the mom refers to him, seeing as she is treating him like a baby.
