I have double ds and I’m not flexible at all and I clasp in the back.
NP here. I have had to do this many times, when the bra is complicated and I just couldn't get it to hook and during the time when I had a broken wrist and only had one good hand to use.
It's doable. If it works for OP's DD why not?
