They do have Zoom access to the classes. My DC is a 6 graders to and said the quarantined kids can zoomed in watch classes.

There may or may not be virtual learning, but the 14-day quarantine is correct. Alexandria Health Dept., unlike the CDC, does not recommend shortening the 14-day quarantine even with a negative test. If your child is symptomatic, they can quarantine for 10 days or shorten the quarantine with a medical clearance note or negative test. It makes no sense.

And the fact that ACPS refuses to allow schools to have outdoor lunch all but guarantees there will be an outbreak. What a disaster!

Exactly. ACPS received nearly 90 million from the various federal relief measures. There really needs to be some accountability for where all of that money is going.

Oh man, I’m sorry. I’m starting to think this year is going to be even more disruptive for students and families, especially given the lack of contingency planning from ACPS.

Why can't ACPS have the nurse do rapid tests for symptomatic kids? I would suggest asymptomatic kids get referred to the city Curative kiosks. I don't get why: 1. ACPS didn't require vaccines or tests for unvaccinated 2. ACPS isn't doing pooled testing 3. ACPS isn't testing kids who are symptomatic 4. ACPS isn't having a town hall or other forum to discuss the COVID positive cases and quarantine procedures. Parents want to know if their kids are going to be doing independent work or on Zoom.

I'm really curious how ACPS spent the federal dollars on mitigation measures. Anyone know where I found that out?
