I have one sibling, 2 half-siblings, 2 step siblings. Don't do that do your kids. Please get a permanent birth control means before moving on to next partner once you make a couple kids with someone.

How so if I had another girl? My family of origin was boy, girl, girl. If I could have guaranteed a second boy (so my middle was an only girl), I may have considered. But I didn’t want DD where I was.

DH and I are both one of two kids. We have two kids. My sibling has two kids. DH's sibling does not have children yet.

I have a tumultuous relationship with my sibling and I wanted to break the two kid pattern, but it was not in the cards for us. I have a huge fear of my own children repeating the dynamic.

I am one of three. I have three children, one sibling has three children, the other sibling has one.

My husband is also from a family of 3. His siblings have 3 and 2 kids.

If I'm being honest, my brother's death is part of what made me want 3 kids. It's sort of a baked-in feeling of nothing being guaranteed.

One of five, and I have four. Two siblings have 2 each, one has 8 and the other has 5.

My husband is one of four but interestingly, two of his siblings have no kids, and one has just 1.

I attribute it to the fact that my family likes to laugh and we are all close and his family is not…. And his parents have always been very stern. It wasn’t a joyful family of six, I guess.

Oldest son: two (boy, girl)
Older daughter: four (boy, girl, boy, girl)
Younger daughter (me): one (girl)
Youngest son: one (boy)

I have often thought my parents should have stopped at two, for their sake and for ours.
