It’s helpful for kids who may have anxiety or other disorders that make it beneficial if they can know where their classes are ahead of time. It’s not about which teacher, it’s about where the location is so they can have their strategies in place to be prepared. My child maps out their classes and their path to get there before the first day of school, typically. Of course if you’re an elementary school it’s not really a concern. It’s up also helpful for secondary students to make sure that their courses are correct so there’s not shuffling during the first couple weeks of school.

I can see a new teacher assigned on seesaw but I heard from another parent that may not be accurate.

Ours did too. What tab would the teacher assignment be under in ParentVue? I don't know where to look. Don't see it yet.

Same, I looked and didn't see it anywhere, nor did I see a blank field for Teacher or anything like that.

FYI, I have my kid's teacher assignment both as a letter and an email, but I still see nothing in ParentVue, nor even a logical space or tab for it to be under.

What’s a cluster? Teacher assignments usually come the last week of summer break, don’t they?

Who cares why there is a variance amongst the schools? Really. Why is there an expectation that every single APS school (at it's respective level) is on the same exact schedule? Having moved from a massive district out of state, the expectation that every APS school at each level is in lockstep is bizarre. Your school(s) will announce when it/they announce(s). Might be later than you'd like. Oh well. All of this handwringing is ridiculous and continues the narrative that a lot of APS parents are totally unable to be pleased. CTFO.

I guess they could force schools that are ready with class assignments ahead of time to hold them until a certain date, but what difference does it make, really? I don't understand why it matters whether you know your kid's teacher today, tomorrow, or last week.

Swanson also said kids normally receive their schedules on day one. We got in the mail the schedule for the first two days, which is not the same. But the email also indicated that possibly the real schedule would be in ParentVue on Friday so I don’t know.

That would seem stressful for kids who have never been in the building.

The most recent PTA email said that schedules will be in ParentVUE/StudentVUE soon.

Because it’s not late yet. If you don’t know by this Friday afternoon, then it’s fair to call. But it will be up by then. And they always have lists at the front door on the first day. I know you want this semblance of control, but there is nothing that’s going to be any different if you know today or on Tuesday.

Agree. Plus they are getting set up for the year. Fielding unnecessary phone calls that will be answered in next few days could be a huge time suck. Their job is more than picking up the phone. Have a speck of patience?

Our school hasn’t updated teachers yet, and while I’d love to know now I figure we’ll find out at the open house at the latest. Or first day. At some point the kid and teacher will connect. On the bright side our iPad seems to have been updated and lists the proper grade for homeroom.
