PP poster here. I just don’t understand why you have to register to get pricing and class schedule. That crap just drives me crazy. And the whole pushiness over the stupid heart monitors is beyond annoying.

I really like OTF! Maybe it varies by studio? Love that it forces me to push myself and compete with myself. Different strokes I guess.

A personal best.

I like the concept and the routine OTF offers, they are just such a pain to deal with. It is worse than a crappy used car lot sales tactic.

Motivated by jealousy and desire that no one look better than me and not to be a fattie.

I got a dog that has to go out regularly and loves to walk and run. So if I don’t take her out and exercise her, she will pee/poop in the house and cry all night. Thus I’ve lost 15 pounds. And even when we boarded her for a week, my body still felt the need to move so I went to the hotel gym each day.

Personal training is helping. I've tried orange theory too.

Health app can work and keeping to a routine. Also, perhaps incorporate workouts with your kids. Our kid likes to bike so we either bike or run along side him. Having a scale helps to keep you accountable if that's important. 10K steps a day is generally a doable goal.

Embarrassingly, Pokémon go gets me to go on a regular walk these days. I’m 40. None of my friends know. You do better if you play with someone, which is how my husband got me to join.

This! That’s why I need a running buddy. I also hired a personal trainer for the same reasons. Now i consistently lift weights and run, with no additional motivation or self discipline. I tacked exercise on to my long-standing dislike of canceling plans and appointments.

I think of it like I think of brushing my teeth and showering. It’s just part of daily maintenance.

As someone who just starting going back to the gym, I made a plan and am sticking to it. My goal was to lose the covid weight and than get the six pack I always wanted but never could follow through. You need a goal and that will be your motivation. Let’s say it’s to tone up and lose 10 lbs. That’s a solid goal and now you need to see how you will get there.

If you are one that needs to stay motivated. You can start with pictures each week and Friday morning weigh in to track your progress. Aim for losing about .5%-1% of your weight each week. If you aren’t losing eat a little less each day and try again for the week.

I find the eating to be the toughest for most people but I make a semi flexible weekly menu and buy all fresh fruits, vegetables, and proteins for the week. I prep the vegetables (wash and cut) on Sunday so that they are ready to go for the week.

The workout I joined my gym so I’m out of the house which forces me to workout. Use weights that are challenging and try to slowly increase it every week.

Once you get started the momentum builds as you want to see that number get bigger or smaller on the scale and you will notice little changes in the mirror. Good luck!
