If that is the best story someone can get out of their vacation, they really aren't vacationing correctly. If someone told me that as a vacation story I would think they were boring and/or insane

I can't get past the fact that you might be in a hotel during the pandemic, much less one serving a communal breakfast.

No need to shower, but I wouldn’t go in regular pajamas. Put on sweats/shorts and a tee.

We generally get dressed first but I wouldn't be horrified if my child went down in PJs.

If you wouldn’t wear it into a grocery store or out to Starbucks it’s not appropriate. And for heaven’s sake brush your hair and put on a bra.

I mean, are these kids going to wear new PJs to bed the next night or will you be re-wearing the same ones? I would not wear clothes that I sleep in outside of my bed/house to then wear again the next night.

I generally wear my PJs twice before washing, so I wouldn't want to wear them in a public space and then re-wear for sleeping. Yuck. Also it just looks bad wearing PJs in public.

No. And purely for cleanliness reasons. Pjs are for sleeping after showering. Not for sitting in a public space.

PJs in any public space are not okay. You don’t need to shower, but you need to get dressed in regular clothes. Jeans/athletic wear are fine, but just no to pajamas.

Kids wearing PJs that are basically a t-shirt and shorts are fine. Adults in PJs should just pick up a coffee and muffin and return immediately to their room.

Me too. I sleep in pants that are probably dressier than what a lot of moms wear to the grocery store—I started doing it when the kids were babies in case I had to get up early with them and walk them around a strange city. It’s the Lands End cotton knit pants. I do put on a bra. It’s the Residence Inn so I think everyone can get off their high horse.

Are you the type who thinks jeans and a sweater and a pair of stud earrings is “dressed up”? I am so tired of friends asking why I’m “so dressed up” if I’m wearing something basic and comfortable like that, or even a sundress.

I agree. I actually think it's kind of cute when I see kids in pajamas. We have different rules when we are at a hotel than at home and it can be a fun thing for kids to be in pajamas in public.
Every hotel I stayed at this summer had breakfast ending at 9 not 10 and it can be hard to be showered and dressed by then.
