Testing once a week for all students!Yay! (More for athletes)
No real social distancing
Outdoor lunch by school 🤷🏽‍♀️
Mandatory masking. Masks will be provided for those who need them.
Air cleaners will stay
Those who test positive/close contacts will be provided asynchronous work while in quarantine. No concurrent. If the whole class has to be quarantined, get out your iPads cuz you’re back in virtual learning! I forgot how long you have to quarantine.

It seems unrealistic that kids, especially high schoolers, won’t fall behind if they’re asynchronous due to quarantine.
Of course they will but this is the end result of the opposition to concurrent.
I wanted concurrent to stay for this exact reason but others did not so here we are.

Did they discuss extended day? Are they going to even try to social distance?
Just assume no social distancing. All social distancing messaging is that they will do it to best extent that is possible. That’s means no.
Anonymous wrote:I dunno. For once this meeting was reassuring. APS actually for once has a decent plan. I was nervous myself, but now, I'm okay sending my kids back to school. Testing is the game changer.

Yes, it is for students who opt in.
How do we opt in? That was my unknown. This is huge news but they talked about it as if it was basic knowledge.
They didn't go into details. They will probably be a form to fill out on ParentVue or paper that comes home from the school.
consent form is here https://www.apsva.us/school-year-2020-21/health-safety/covid-19-testing/

If you have a medical reason you can appeal. If not you'll have to wait until the quarter or semester

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:I'm interested in instruction too. I hope they won't keep the kids on iPads all day to social distance like they did in the Spring. Did Dr Duran talk about what the classroom will look like next Fall?
They will
