Factually incorrect statement, at least in Montgomery County, where the vaccination rate for Latino residents is higher than the vaccination rate for white residents.

Prince George's County is predominantly black/AA and 70% of adults are vaccinated.

Where do you get that number? According to the State website, 54.3% of PG County population is fully vaccinated. That's still a hefty unvaccinated population. In Howard Co, 72.7% of the population is fully vaccinated.

WTOP. Four weeks ago. It should be higher now. https://wtop.com/prince-georges-county/2021/07/prince-georges-hits-70-vaccination-rate-for-adults/

My neighbor. Left leaning politically with a big dash of libertarian thrown in. Believes that Trump really won the election but has applied for (successfully) a low level position in Biden administration. Remains to be seen if vax will be a deal breaker because he swears he’ll never get it. Has very unique set of skills so perhaps the government will look the other way?

Might want to have a chat with Lamar Jackson, who just had COVID for the second time.

I'm not vaccinated. 50 yo white female Democrat. I have medical issues, including severe allergies and an as yet undiagnosed auto immune condition, with risk of blood clots. I am doing the right thing for me, which is holding off on vaccination until I have a handle on my health.

No you are doing a dumb thing, and will probably die of COVID.

Statistically, my chances of dying from covid are .001%, if I contract it.

So you're 50 years old and have a ton of health issues, but you're approximately 1000 times less likely to die of this brand new disease than the average person is because reasons. Also it's a brand new vaccine, after all, unlike COVID-19, which was so named because it came into existence in the year 1619.

Probably a blood clot will get me first and our bickering can end. I'm not in a position or mind frame to introduce a new vaccine into my body. I understand you are anxious about covid and berating internet strangers gives you some sense of control, but I have to do what I feel is best for me. I'm not trumping around the town and I mask up when I go to my medical appointments. If you are vaxxed and are doing well, please just enjoy your life.

NP here, the blood clot issue is serious and you need to do what is best for you and your body. The advice from your personal physicians is what matters and not this online nonsense. The name calling is just ridiculous. You do not come across as dumb. Best wishes to you (50yr old lady) stay masked up and sanitized.

Also please keep a healthy distance from young children who cannot be vaccinated because the vaccine is not available to them at this time. Thank you.

Thank you. Yes, I have been advised to hold off by my doctors. I am not taking any unnecessary risks and the rest of my family is vaccinated. I am in a currently low case area. I am not concerned about contracting covid or spreading it, if I did get it. I'm actually a bit younger than I indicated originally.

There are a lot of Republicans in the DMV. They get brought up in indoctrinated closed bubbles of conservative media and information, often in the South or in religious bubbles elsewhere,, then parachuted into DC to work for Republican elites and rightwing organizations.
Just look at Congress: about half the staff are Republicans. (The average brainpower is low, because the pool to draw from is so much smaller. What, only 10% of those who score high on the LSAT are Republicans? But there are a decent number of Republicans.)
And someone has to be reading the Washington times and DC Examiner.

So a lot of Republicans get brought into the DMV. You may not know them because the elites try hard to segment them away from the city folk — they’re afraid of more Souters, who was a conservative until he got to DC and learned how the world really worked.

I know a few unvaccinated religious conservatives. It’s sad.

There are people out there that are not good candidates for vaccination. Possibly our poster above. As long as she is masking and distancing, I have no beef

A bunch of people that I work with.

One was pregnant who has just recently given birth.

My work has requested vaccination status, but has not officially mandated vaccinations. They will be forced to eventually and I have no idea how the non vax people will respond.

For those wondering, it is a non vaxed mix of ethnicity classifications that run the grey scale from black to white.

The one family I know, the parents are scared about the long term effects. They are still basically in lockdown mode.

Where is CDC getting this data.?
The drugstore where I got my vaccine didn’t even ask for an insurance card. I just wrote my name and date of birth. How do they know my ethnicity if I did not tell them?

I'll play:

Person 1. Originally concerned about history of medical abuse of AA people, evolved to concerns about fertility/pregnancy. Spouse believes they will be be protected by herd immunity and refuses.

Person 2. Immunocompromised with a healthy dose of misinformation. Claims to know 3 fully vaccinated people who have died from COVID and every medical person in their orbit recommends against getting vaccinated.

Both teachers.
