Subject: Can’t stomach spending 50K on a minivan
Because of the car parts (chip) shortage and their reputation for reliability, Toyotas are in especially short supply and overpriced right now. Some models of toyotas have a one year waitlist right now and some dealerships are holding lotteries. Madness but here we are.

In this market, that is the unicorn for a minivan. I don't have an opinion on the price, just the availability of a minivan coming off a 2 year lease.
The listing isn’t there anymore, but it was probably a three-year lease.
And just to add, any person who has the slightest bit of buyers remorse can trade in (or upgrade) their 1/2/3 year old car without taking a big financial hit. So they’re out there. The question, though, is whether you’re better off just buying new given that you don’t save a ton of money.

I wish. I can probably wait until November, but at that point we’ll need two cars, and I don’t see it improving. Our second cars engine is failing and the mechanics we’ve taken it to say to just let it die (it’s a 1990s Mercedes) also, the winds no longer roles up, so we have to tape it to keep the weather out. That’s new and that was the end of it for me.

Can you wait OP? This is the worst time to buy a car because the pandemic market hasn't shaken out yet and the used car market is also inflated. In the late fall or early 2022 prices are supposed to drop

Great choice! Chrysler minivans are awesome. We just got a new one after putting about 300k miles on our 2001 Chrysler Voyager.
We were happy with our 2001 Chrysler Town & Country, until a brake line ruptured in 2010. Fortunately it happened in stop and go traffic on the Beltway, so the collision was minor. My confidence in Chrysler vehicles was definitely shaken, and I haven't bought one since. Had several prior to this.

Ditch the extended warranty
I used to agree with ditching the extended warranty, but new cars now have so much technological crap and if anything malfunctions, it's incredibly expensive.

Thanks all. We are going to go with the Pacifica , it’s from dec 2020 with 7K miles and is AWD and touring L model. Hope to use it for 3-5 years. 37K. The family has two and purchased one for the nanny to use and no longer need the nanny.
