Britain also has wall to wall cameras that they are willing to use to solve crimes. Try asking DC police to pull video footage to track down a stolen car etc. Cameras are sporadically placed and near impossible to access, UNLESS its to collect a fine.

As to no guns--UK has incredible knife violence and horrifyingly, acid attacks.

Yeah, the US isn’t the UK. And that’s no accident. And as for “doing OK” do you use kitchen knives, steak knives, even butter knives?” Because in the UK the constabulary shudders in horror at the thought of mere mortals having such hideously deadly objects, just waiting to leap up of their own accord and do “sharp object violence.”

Just one bystander was wounded and they report the injuries to be non-life-threatening. They were released from the hospital yesterday.

The two articles I've read today both state the same: guy got off the bus, walked up to the officer & stabbed him in the neck, he and the officer wrestled where the guy killed the officer, and then the guy took took the officer's service weapon & shot himself.

One specifically stated he took the service weapon and committed suicide, dying on the scene. The other article stated that he took the weapon and shot himself before other offices arrived and "engaged with him" and he was pronounced at the hospital.
