Anonymous wrote:You cannot compare UF test scores to W&L when UF has over 50% in state and is public. Florida is way more competitive for the average OOS than W&L. Also, no one (and I mean no one but alums) would put Tulane over Wake Forest or Davidson. And equal to Rice?? yea, smoking something. UVa is the most prestigious public in the south.

In that order.
You're missing UVA, Georgia Tech is WAY too low, and no one cares about Washington & Lee.
Hey look, stupid is here. Say something dumb again. We love it.
Whoever came up with the above list of schools must be over age 40, hasn’t visited the actual schools recently and hasn’t looked at US News and World Report. I agree with the people posting here about UF - it really is a top school and has improved tremendously.
Well, let's see how UF, which is claimed on this thread to be vastly improved and surpassing every public school but one, stacks up against Washington & Lee, which according to this thread no one compares about.
40 Year NPV https://cew.georgetown.edu/cew-reports/collegeroi/
W&L: $1,578,000
UF: $1,202,000
Value Add Rank
W&L: 4https://cew.georgetown.edu/cew-reports/college-rankings/#interactive
UF: 856
ACT Composite 75/25 (From CDS)
W&L: 34/32
UF: 33/28
6 Year Graduation Rate (From CDS)
W&L: 94%
UF: 88%
Issues with that tool:
- The tool makes income just about the only indicator of quality.
- Because the value of a dollar is much higher in the Midwest and the South then elsewhere in the country, it tends to exaggerate the impact of schools in the Northeast.

~48000
UNC around 54000
Isn’t Miami ranked higher than Florida?
LOL. No.

Anonymous wrote:UF has passed UNC and arguably UVA in academic quality and now receives the most applications of the three. It's the best and most sought after public university in the South. Granted, national prestige tends to lag a few years behind, but those who are in the know, know. Chomp chomp.
